NY Senator Chuck Schumer wants to create a new enemies list. Call it The Enemies of Amtrak List.
Schumer said Sunday that he will push for the creation of a "do not ride" list for Amtrak. The list would be similar to the no-fly list that keeps those suspected of terrorism from flying into or out of the United States.
"Anyone, even a member of al-Qaida could purchase a train ticket and board an Amtrak train without so much as a question asked," Schumer said. "So that's why I'm calling for the creation of an Amtrak no ride list. That would take the secure flight program and apply it to Amtrak trains."
See, according to documents seized from Osama bin Laden's not-so-secret Pakistani hide-out al-Qaeda may have been planning to attack trains. So Chuck wants to bring the TSA to Amtrak. Why just Amtrak though? Aren't the subways trains too? Or NJ Transit? LIRR? You gonna start strip-searching commuters Chuck?
Yeah, I know, don't give him any ideas.
How about we put Chuck into one of Pete King's Congressional Bubbles instead? Preferably one that's equipped with The Cone Of Silence.
(Hey, Chuck got himself a Memeorandum thread!)
