Sometimes it sucks to be right. Conservatives have been saying for years that releasing the Gitmo guys back into the wild would come back to bite us in the ass. My liberal friends always assure me that most of them are peaceful goatherds and taxi drivers who were caught up in "sweeps". To the average Obamabot every guy in Gitmo was turned in by some tribal rival nursing a centuries old grudge. It's an "injustice" to keep them there.
Well, here's 2 guys we never should have released. Meet Guantanamo prisoner #333, Muhamad Attik al-Harbi, and prisoner #372, Said Ali Shari. Both were released to Saudi Arabia on November 9, 2007. And now, a mere two years later, they are the "masterminds" behind Christmas bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
Al Qaeda in Yemen released a video showing these two "peaceful goatherds" lauding Captain Underpants for beating U.S. intelligence and claiming responsibility for planning the attack.
The usual liberal apologists are hiding behing Dick Cheney's skirts, claiming that since these particular gomers were released prior to the Age of Hope and Change their association with this latest terrorist attack is somehow Bush's fault. They're like a broken record, everything bad which happens on their Obamessiah's watch is Bush's fault. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Barry sent 12 more "peaceful goatherds" back to Yemen last week. He's got another dozen or so "on deck", ready to leave. Maybe he could take a few minutes in between rounds of golf this week to think long and hard about what releasing them might mean for our national security.
