Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.

Recent headlines from my Posterous Blog:
I took my weekly jaunt through BlogExplosion this afternoon and encountered the usual mix of eclectically interesting blogs to skim. There are quite a few noteworthy characters who update regularly along with a fair number of angst-filled Malaysian teenagers. (not really my speed...) And of course there are political blogs, running the gamut from loony-left 9/11 troofers to die-hard Ronulans.
More to the loony left side is a fellow named Shaun who writes a blog called Upper Left. He's a hard-core partisan liberal democrat Obamabot (and proud of it, too).
Shaun thinks our nation needs a 90% top tax rate.
It will counter what he labels "income disparity". I must have missed that part of civics class where our Founding Fathers fought and died for equality of outcome — from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. If I recall correctly, it was Marx and Lenin who espoused that crap, not Franklin, Jefferson, and Madison.
But Shaun and the liberals believe in their misguided hearts that the omniscient government bureaucracy knows what to do with our hard-earned money better than we ourselves do. To them we are a "resource", to be mined for dollars like a mountain is mined for coal. (Well, maybe that's a poor metaphor since he's also aligned with the eco-nuts and coal is ipso facto evil to them.).
I'll say this as clearly as possible Shaun so there is no mistaking my meaning. Fuck you.
It's MY money; not yours, and not the government's. I earned it.
I surrender a percentage of it (a far too high percentage of it already) in exchange for the security and convenience of living in the United States of America. But this "income disparity" line is a load of crap. It's not MY fault some people make less money; it's THEIR fault. They can work harder. It's not MY problem that you or anyone else is jealous of my success. Envy is a sin, consult your Bible for the appropriate penitential rites.
Instead of whinging about "rich people" why don't you put all the effort you expend on complaining into working? Stop worrying about what other people have and concentrate on your own life. Do you want "more"? Work for it; don't confiscate what I worked for and call it "fairness". Rewarding laziness and poor choices is not my definition of fairness. But that's what the government does every day with my tax dollars; they parcel it out to layabouts, drug addicts, and dropouts (when they're not dumping it by the bushel barrel full on Iowa farmers for ethanol or handing out "foreign aid" to Palestinian terrorists).
Somewhere along the line our nation lost its original sense of purpose. Somebody decided it would be a good idea for the government to "take care" of the citizens. So what we got was a citizenry beholden to the government, instead of a government answerable to the citizens. That's bad, and I can see no reason to make it worse by by giving the government even more money and power.
But instead we have you liberals trying to expand the government's control over our lives and our dependence on them for our very existence via the chimera of universal health care. And you're willing to raise taxes to 90% (ninety freaking percent!) to do it. Nevermind what that will do to our economy or the flow of capital. Saint Barry will just print more money if he runs out, right? Or you'll castigate the "rich doctors" and "profiteering pharmaceutical companies" into coughing up more of their profits.
Whatever it takes, until everyone is finally "equal". Equally poor and miserable, that is. But Democrats will still be in charge! That's what really matters to you guys.
Remember this quote from Robert Heinlein?
This is known as "bad luck".
Or to put it another way.
Life is hard. It's even harder when you're stupid. That's still not MY
problem.
