Technorati and Me
Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.

Cops, like judges and other big shots, are exempt from DUI laws
Cops don't give tickets to other cops. Even when their fellow officer is blotto behind the wheel. NJ State Trooper Sheila McKaig was stopped three times in three months by Hamilton Township police for drunken driving. And each time she was sent on her way thanks to "professional courtesy".
No breathalyzer tests were administered. No summonses were issued. In fact there were no consequences of any kind to Trooper McKaig's wanton disregard for the law and the public safety. Stopped 10 times over a 14 month period for a smogasbord of traffic offenses Trooper McKaig is finally facing unspecified internal disciplinary charges solely because her abhorrent conduct has now come to light.
Day after day she continues to patrol the Atlantic City Expressway with (presumably) nothing stronger than coffee in her travel mug. Losing her license to a DUI conviction would have ended her law enforcement career. But since cops take care of their own she got a pass that you or I or anyone else who is not "connected" would never get.
"She's a good person that had an issue," said State Police spokesman Capt. Gerald Lewis. "She has overcome some obstacles and is still a productive member of the State Police."
Let's call this the Sheila McKaig Defense. "I'm a good person that had an issue" can now be the rallying cry in municipal courts across New Jersey. Well, perhaps if there was the same standard for everyone. We all know that's not true of course. Cops get a break. Judges who know how to work the system get off scot free. Powerful Congressmen and Obama Administration bigshots don't have to pay taxes.
The law only applies to the little people.
