Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.

Every policeman is your friend. It's an axiom taught to countless children in grade school. If you want to be safe you can always trust the police.
And until the advent of the TSA it's a statement that probably was true.
Researching this post I happened to come across a detailed picture of a woman
subjected to one of the TSA's new naked body scanners. At the same time my
nine year old daughter walked into the room. She exclaimed in surprise, that
lady is naked! Yes Sophie, she is. Every person who enters an airport
has to let a stranger see her naked. Even you.
She recoiled in horror. Me? Yes, you. If you don't want them to see your naked body you have to let a strange man touch your private areas.
Sophie freaked out. I don't blame her! We teach our children to keep their bodies private. Yet to board an airplane they now have to surrender their innocence and dignity to a uniformed officer of the United States government.
The policeman is your friend. Even if he wants to see you naked. Pay no attention to that finger entering your vagina. He's keeping you safe from terrorists!
The Wysocki family will never fly again. I will not subject my daughter to a strip search by a glorified rent-a-cop. I don't care how Janet Incompetano tries to justify it. It's unacceptable.
What scares me is that there are probably a lot of people who'll shrug their shoulders and submit. What else can you do? We gotta get to Disney World! It's only for a minute, what's the harm?
The harm is that we're being conditioned to accept the unacceptable.
Little by little citizens are surrendering their liberty to the state. Until one day it seems perfectly reasonable for us to be herded off to internment camps, for our own protection naturally. The terrorists are coming. We'll be safe under the watchful eyes of Homeland Security.
Oh, and while you're here Dear Leader would like to say a few words.
Is this the America we want to bequeath to our children?
NO!
Did you know that Alexander Hamilton predicted the TSA? He did.
Safety from external danger is the most powerful director of national conduct. Even the ardent love of liberty will, after a time, give way to its dictates. The violent destruction of life and property incident to war, the continual effort and alarm attendant on a state of continual danger, will compel nations the most attached to liberty to resort for repose and security to institutions which have a tendency to destroy their civil and political rights. To be more safe,...
It's not too late. Some people are fighting back. Pilots and flight attendants want to be exempted. Why not? They're uniformed too. The uniforms convey authority. The uniformed man is clearly in charge.
That's not fighting back. That's accepting the underlying premise, and asking for special consideration. Us vs them. The uniforms against the unwashed masses.
Authoritarian government is not confined to airports. The uniforms are pervasive. They know what's best for your baby.
A couple's newborn baby was kidnapped by Lawrence County Children and Youth Services (LCCYS) because her mother recklessly consumed an "everything" bagel from Dunkin' Donuts the day before the birth.
Poppy seeds on the bagel triggered a positive test for opiates in the mother's urine. The uniforms knew what was best. The bond between mother and child is no match for the maternalistic interest of the uniformed agents. The war on drugs trumps your liberty.
Have you been subjected to a no-knock raid? Don't worry, you will. And again you have no recourse. Wrong house? If you defend yourself against the uniforms you're at fault. Just ask Cory Maye.
The policeman is always your friend. Call for help and you too can be helped to a jolt or two from his taser.
Should we still teach our children that the policeman is always her friend?
The uniform is all-powerful. Retire from the cult of the uniform and you become fair game too.
The militarization of our police forces, ostensibly so they can effectively wage the War on Drugs, is no accident. A militarized police can more easily subjugate the civilian population. Of course the politicians are afraid of us exercising our Second Amendment rights. The Second Amendment is all that's left between freedom and tyranny. Every time a government functionary rails against "gun violence" what he's really doing is setting the stage for confiscation of our firearms so he can tell us what's best for us.
Gun control is premised on the proposition that the populace at large cannot be trusted. According to the uniforms only properly trained law enforcement personnel are qualifed to use guns. And use them they will, against us.
Once "strip and grope" is the new normal, when objectors are handcuffed and vilified, what escalated level of indignity will they impose next?
They are conditioning us to accept the unacceptable. When they come for our children we will be unable, and quite frankly unwilling, to fight back. It's easier to go along, just do what the man in the uniform says and everything will be alright. The Nanny State has been reborn as The Fatherland.
America is now a police state. The policeman is not your friend.
The uniformed agents of our federal government are the enemies of freedom.
