Did you get you free donut this morning? Participating Dunkin Donuts stores will give you a free donut with purchase of any beverage. The lady in front of me in line didn't want hers, so I got 2!
National Donut Day, always the first Friday in June, was started by the Chicago Salvation Army in 1938 to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. Nothing perks up a homesick fella quite like a donut, a steaming mug of coffee, and a smile from a pretty lady.
