Everything you need to know about the progressive, liberal mindset can be summed up by the following pictures.
First, I present an
"offensive" Christmas ornament.
There's no place for angels atop Christmas trees, according to one California man who successfully lobbied for the removal of religious symbols at county buildings after spotting a yuletide decoration last week.
Stars and other religious emblems were ordered removed from Christmas trees in all government buildings in Sonoma County on Monday following a complaint by Irv Sutley, a disabled 65-year-old Marine veteran who said the symbols were "extremely offensive" and part of the "cult" of Christianity.
I pity Mr. Sutley. I truly do. To be "offended" by a message of love and peace must make him a Capo di tutti capi of the progressive grievance mongering set.
They say he is "disabled", but don't specify how. I'm guessing a fairly serious brain injury is somehow involved.
And then on the opposite scale, we have decorations that not only pass muster
with progressives far and wide, they have the official imprimateur of approval
from President Obama, his family, and the White House.
Created by controversial designer Simon Doonan these decorations adorn the official White House Christmas tree in the Blue Room; the tree which Mrs. Obama gushed was her "favorite".
Yes boys and girls, that's Mao Tse Tung, wishing you a very solemn Peoples Winter Solstice.
Of course, it wouldn't be Fistmas in the Blue Room without an ornament of legendary transvestite Hedda Lettuce, signed by he/she, and dedicated to Safe Schools everywhere.
And in what's sure to be huge hit in the White House gift shop for centuries
to come, there's an ornament superimposing The Chosen One onto Mt. Rushmore!
So there you have a truly progressive Christmas in a nutshell. Angels, symbolizing eternal love and peace on earth are verbotten. But Mao, endorsing brutal oppression of the citizenry with a heavy dose of mass murder, is A-OK!
What's on tap for next year? Obama bowing to Mao, with Che, Castro, and Chavez smiling approvingly in the background? Nothing quite expresses a liberal's view of Christmas like an ornament which pays homage to their secular "messiah" as he supplicates to every progressive's favorite dictator and their 3 Wise Men of the Enlightenment.
Or as Harry Reid might put it, Goodwill toward men is for saps.
