To almost no one's surprise low information voters are also low information consumers. Half the people in New Jersey are completely unaware of Obamacare's upcoming mandate to purchase health insurance. If I wasn't in the mood to be charitable, I'd say those folks are too stupid to vote.
Enrollment opens Tuesday in the new insurance plans offered under the Affordable Care Act, but a poll released today indicates that New Jersey residents are less informed than Americans in general about the law's requirement that they have health coverage starting next year.
Just over half of adults in New Jersey are aware that nearly everyone must have health insurance in 2014 or pay a fine, according to the poll. And only one in three has heard much about the health marketplaces that open Tuesday in each state.
"New Jerseyans are well behind the curve right now in understanding the individual mandate," said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, which conducted the survey Sept. 6-10 and made the results public today.
Listen up Obamabots. Tomorrow is the day Freedom Dies. October 1, 2013 will go down in history as a day more infamous than December 7, 1941. Once, America rallied to repel Japanese and German fascists; today the sheeple embrace fascism with open arms, and as it turns out, empty heads.
The Individual Mandate is an abomination, one that no Founding Father could ever have envisioned, let alone sanctioned. Add in the full-frontal assault on religious liberty inherent in Obamacare's contraceptive, sterilization, and abortion mandates and you have a one-two punch to the heart of our republic.
We are no longer free to engage in commerce as we see fit.
And we are no longer free to practice our religion without interference from an over-arching federal government.
I weep for the America that we lost. The Anti-Federalists were right; tyranny
is here to stay.
