Obama came to town for a fundraiser and all we got was the bill for police overtime
Last week in Cresskill, NJ a flotilla of well-heeled Democrats lined up for a $30,400 per plate fundraiser headlined by President Obama. He helicoptered in, landing on a local soccer field before traveling by motorcade to the home of the Kempner family on East Madison Avenue. And then he bolted out of town with more than $1 million dollars in donations for the DNC.
He left something behind too. A bill. $8,000 for police and DPW overtime.
Mayor Ben Romeo said on Oct. 11 that a letter is being written to the Democratic National Committee seeking compensation.
"We're asking the DNC for a reimbursement," Romeo said. "We were not prepared for this. We don't have something in our budget for a presidential visit. This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing."
Reimbursement? ROFL! Isn't Dear Leader's presence it's own reward?
What's that, you're Republicans? Oh. Never mind.
I wish Mayor Romeo luck in getting reimbursed. These are Democrats; first they'll evade responsibility for the bill citing "official business" When that doesn't work (a fundraiser is hardly official business) they'll fall back on the standard Democrat line — if you're running short on cash, raise taxes.
He's gotta cut the DNC some slack seeing as how
George Soros has stopped writing checks. How are they going to have
enough cash on hand for ACORN and SEIU get out the vote efforts if you guys
insist that they pay their bills?
