Meet Professor Obama, he knows how to budget responsibly.
I thought this was an April Fool's Day joke momentarily, but apparently, it's for real. The White House has declared that this is the month to give advice to young people on how to budget responsibly.
Borrow. Borrow some more. Send the bill to your grandchildren. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
"I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices," Obama said in an official proclamation released Friday.
"My Administration is dedicated to helping people make sound decisions."
Really. Those are his exact words. As he takes every opportunity to demagogue a modest reduction in the rate of spending growth. As we still await his federal budget. As he prints money like it's going out of style, and borrows more than all other presidents combined.
This just in, May will feature Mark Sanford and John Edwards starring in Be Faithful to Your Wife Month. June marks the 37th annual National Diet Month featuring Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell, with a special guest appearance by Oprah Winfrey. And in July we'll learn the basics of sensual shower massage from Jerry Sandusky.
All of which are, sadly, more believable than pretending that Barack Obama
knows thing one about budgeting.
