WyBlog, the best thing about New Jersey since the invention of the 24 hour diner.

I guess you have to admire their chutzpah. Legions of tenured teachers with lifetime job security are joining the highest paid cops and firemen in the nation in a raucous Trenton protest against Governor Chris Christie's budget cuts. Organizers estimate upwards of 30,000 members of the Gimme, Gimme, and Gimme Some More Brigade will be on hand to lambaste the governor. What do they want? More money for themselves, of course!
It's our own little slice of Greece, (hopefully) without the firebombs and dead bankers.
In the past eight years the Democrats have raised taxes in New Jersey a whopping 115 times. One hundred and fifteen tax increases haven't solved our fiscal problems! Why do you suppose that is?
You can't get blood from a stone.
The well has run dry.
New Jersey does not have an income problem, New Jersey has a spending problem.
Here's my message to the protesters. Grow up. You're lucky you have a job. You should be grateful the governor hasn't gone all "air traffic controllers" on your sorry asses.
You aren't willing to pay a measly 1.5% towards your health benefits? Try finding a non-government job where the benefits are free! You're mad because you didn't get your usual double-digit raise this year? I, and practically everyone I know who's still working, have taken pay cuts.
Unemployment in New Jersey is over 10 percent. If you don't like the new terms of your deal, step aside. I guarantee that for each and every one of you snot nosed whingers there are 3 unemployed taxpayers who would jump at the chance to take your place. Probably for less money too.
So go ahead. Make your speeches. Wave your signs. Voice your anger and
get the rage out of your system. Then go home and get back to work.
