WyBlog, the best thing about New Jersey since the invention of the 24 hour diner.

The teachers union said "fuck you, pay me", and a majority of the idiots who live in Caldwell meekly said "ok". How else to explain why our school budget passed even though the teachers refused to accept a one year wage freeze or contribute 5 cents toward their gold-plated health benefits?
The union can gloat because they hold our children hostage. And they're going to demand (and probably receive) even more ridiculously lucrative contract terms at the next renewal because the people in this town are unwilling to stand with our governor and say "enough is enough".
The school board sycophants who turn out to vote in these elections are afraid to stand up to the NJEA. God forbid we should sacrifice third grade travel soccer to send the parasites a message. So they can collect their breathing bonuses for another year while the taxpayers take it up the ass once again.
Statewide more than half of the budgets went down to defeat. West Orange voters resoundingly rejected a budget which would have raised taxes more than 8%. Sparta saw it's proposed school spending plan fall by a margin of more than 3 to 1.
So I can take some solace in knowing that there are indeed sane voters in
New Jersey. Just not where I live. Our Middle School is on NCLB probation and
our High School has been "warned" to shape up or face penalties. Yup, that's a
mighty fine education our kids are receiving, undoubtedly worth every penny the
union fatcats extort from the taxpayers each year. Isn't it great that we're
keeping the teachers in champagne and caviar while they shunt our children down
the path to mediocrity?
