In the People's Republic of Maplewood, New Jersey the only permissible thoughts are progressive thoughts. So when DPW employee Sam Falcetano Jr. took to Facebook with comments exposing liberal hypocrisy he was immediately sacked, and publicly shamed.
A township employee was fired this week after writing a series of profanity-laced Facebook posts, township officials said.
Sam Falcetano Jr., who was posting on the open Facebook group, "Memories of living in South Orange, NJ or Maplewood, NJ" and identified himself as an employee of the Department of Public Works, complained that DPW workers spent hours cleaning up the "tons of garbage" left behind after the township's two-day Maplewoodstock concert. Falcetano blamed the mess on "liberals who have voted for Obama and ruined the Maplewood I grew up in."
Clean up after themselves? What did he think Maplewoodstock was, a Tea Party rally?
From there, Falcetano segued into statements criticizing teachers who "force feed their pupils a liberal agenda," abortion and gay marriage, which he said "breaks down the moral fabric of society."
"don't try and force your perverted man on man into our traditional marriage," one post read.
It's a wonder he wasn't shot for heresy.
"Without question, the township finds this individual's comments to be appalling and not in anyway representative of the beliefs, policies or practices of the Township of Maplewood," DeLuca said, reading from a prepared statement at the start of Tuesday's Township Committee meeting. He continued, "The township will continue to embrace and promote an inclusive and welcoming community."
"Inclusive and welcoming," unless you're a Conservative. Then they ride you out of town on a rail. This is of course the essence of Liberal Fascism — Groupthink is mandatory; violators will be purged.
Next time Mr. Falcetano, take care to use vulgarity only when comparing Sarah Palin to a part of the female anatomy. And if you're going to condemn homosexuality, you have to do it in the context of upholding Sharia Law; this is known as the Islamic Free Pass, and liberals would prefer that we not talk about it too much lest their hypocrisy shine through again.
Now I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, but it seems to me that the First Amendment protects free speech from governmental sanction. Expressing an unpopular opinion ought not be grounds for losing one's government job. Unless the intent is to impose conformity. Which come to think of it, is precisely what liberals want the government to do.
