Remember when Men were men? Yeah, me neither. Now they're whiny pansies.
Rutgers men's basketball coach Mike Rice can be heard spewing profanities, including gay slurs, and seen firing basketballs at players' heads and bodies, kicking basketballs across the court and making physical contact with several players -- shoving, grabbing -- on a tape the school showed today. The same tape showed today to reporters, it is believed, was obtained by ESPN and portions were aired this afternoon.
The tape in question, approximately 40 minutes long and covering practices at Rutgers Athletic Center over Rice's first three years as Rutgers' coach, was the basis for the school's suspension of Rice in December for three games and fining him $50,000.
Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti said specifically the gay slur was "at the core of the suspension."
In the video, Rice is shown calling a player a "(expletive) fairy" and "(expletive) faggot."
Said Pernetti: "It absolutely concerns me. It is not acceptable."
Gimme a break. He used a gay slur! Call the waambulance.
Rutgers men's basketball sucks. That's what should be "not acceptable."
The only way these
faggots can get to the NCAA championship is if they buy a ticket. The last
time they made it to the Final 4?
1976, when they got their asses kicked by Michigan and UCLA.
I'm thinking a little tough love isn't exactly out of line here.
And before you jump my shit consider this. Every one of their scholarships comes out of my ass in the form of NJ state taxes. We subsidize these losers. You'd think the least they could do is win a championship every 30 years or so.
But no. And Pernetti is moving Rutgers up, from an also-ran in the Big East to what will undoubtedly be a slot as perennial cellar-dwellers of the Big Ten.
I hate to break it to the Rice-haters, but in the Big Ten everybody doesn't get a trophy. Maybe Coach Rice (or one of his predecessors) already tried the sweetness and light approach and the team still sucked. The "bombshell" tape is incomplete so we'll never know. Its purpose is to sensationalize events which were undoubtedly taken out of context.
Man up fellas. And if you want to stop Coach Rice from screaming at you, try winning.
UPDATE 03 Apr 2013 10:47:
