Regulation Nation: U.S. Customs crushes "illegal" Land Rover Defender

Because the Nanny State has to protect us from ourselves. And from choosing what car to drive.

There's nothing unsafe about a Land Rover Defender. It's one of the toughest cars ever made. And people drive them all over Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. But not in Barack Obama's Regulation Nation. Because the manufacturer decided it couldn't sacrifice dozens of them each year to meet byzantine and often conflicting federal and state crash-test standards.

So LR dealers in the U.S. can't sell them. Even though they're wildly popular and in high demand.

And when a private citizen tries to bring one into the country, the U.S. Customs Service springs into action. They can't catch illegal aliens. They can't stop tons and tons of cocaine, heroin, and marijuana from flooding our shores. They roll out the welcome mat for terrorists like the Tsarnaev brothers. But by golly they're gonna interdict Land Rover Defenders!
