WyBlog, the best thing about New Jersey since the invention of the 24 hour diner.

Today is April 15th, Tax Day, the customary time to Render Unto Ceasar. I'm off the hook until May 11th though because of the tree that fell on my garage. Essex County New Jersey is an official Presidential Disaster Area. The IRS is granting an automatic extension (without penalties or interest) for anyone who was affected by the storms and flooding last month.
So here are some words that I never thought I'd say — Thanks President Obama.
Don't fret though. I'm still with my buddy Russ and the rest of The Resistance. He's leading a group of Tea Partiers to DC today. Godspeed folks, and make sure those clowns in Congress can hear you.
Is there a Tea Party near you? The Reb has the canonical list. And Fishersville Mike has some traveling music for you. Meanwhile, Grandpa John penned a theme song for the Democrats.
Troglopundit posted
this handy graph showing how long we work just to subsidize the government.
He's got some good tax day cartoons too so
click on over for a quick laugh before you write the check.
Theo Spark has a few more to lift your spirits after you write the
check.
Pundette has more depressing stats in the same vein. No cartoons though.
And Mary Sue links to a list of all the new taxes on the middle class that Barry has enacted since his "no new taxes on the middle class" pledge. It's a long list.
Bob Belvedere continues to inspire us with his calls to arms. His latest, Rally Round The Flag: We Have No Alternative is no exception. Here is his no holds barred assessment of the peril we must confront:
Here we are 234 years after the founding of The United States, faced with many of the same trials and tribulations encountered by The Founding Fathers. Our freedoms and liberties are under vicious and vindictive assault. We are constantly harassed by our representatives and the bureaucrats of a distant national government that, for all intents and purposes, exists on an isolated island. This same and removed government is plundering our hard-earned wealth, and intentionally demolishing our sacred traditions and institutions, and ripping from our hands those freedoms given to us scared trust by our Creator. The fury of the whirlwind of Leftist activity has only been increasing since 20 January 2009 and shows no sign of abating. If anything, our enemies have grown more confident in their cretinous arrogance. They seek nothing less than the destruction of all we hold dear and nothing less than our total enslavement to the state. Make no mistake and be under no illusions: that is the end sought by every Leftist.
The odds are against us. For too long we have allowed the Progressives and their anti-human ideas to infiltrate and infect, with their insidious cancer, every nook and cranny of our lives. Both have deep roots that will require a great deal of chemotherapy to eliminate and, like all such treatments, there will be much damage that will ensue. Our lives may be disrupted from the tranquility we have known and not recover that serene condition until many of us have gone the way of all flesh and our progeny are old and gray. But, if the American Republic is to survive and be restored, then the side effects are worth every discomfort and pang.
We must return to our founding principles, to the roots which nurtured and strengthened the birth of our nation. Bob found wisdom in the writings of Sam Adams, and his inspiring words are our clarion call to duty. We too will pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to ensuring that this great Republic will overcome the trials of these times and once again be that shining city on a hill.
Read the whole thing. Sam Adams was a very wise man indeed.
Taxes are not the only drain on our economy. There is the hidden cost of tax compliance. A multitude of federal regulations cost Americans $1.2 trillion annually. Have you thanked a bureaucrat today?
The Obama power grab continues unabated. This time it's a new police force with unprecedented power and jurisdiction. This is scary stuff, and if we don't stop this guy soon our nation may never recover.
Could the Progressives have overextended themselves? Possibly, we'll know for sure in November.
Yet the police state grows more powerful every day. It's mission to "protect and serve" has morphed into "protect the police" and "serve the state". This latest example of unchecked police brutality and subsequent cover-up will turn your stomach.
Sadly there are so-called "Republicans" (in name only) who are willing to sell us down the river for much less than 30 pieces of silver. Lindsay Graham is a disgrace to the honorable term "Senator". Even if we can take back the Congress in November we'll still be saddled with muddle-headed bozos like him and those two political bimbos from Maine.
On the lighter side, I gotta get me one of these shirts.
Opposition to ObamaCare is at an all-time high. The more we learn about this stinking pile of excrement the easier it will be to repeal it. And if you want to be exempt from it, join the Amish.
You know, every time I think the New York Times can't sink any lower, they manage to hit a new low. Treason. There really is no other word for it this time.
The Obama train wreck even extends to outer space. He wants to make sure that we never get the chance to Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before.
Carol had the pleasure of attending a Marco Rubio rally hosted by Sean Hannity and she filed this firsthand report. Mr. Rubio is the Real Deal.
Write this down: Life is life is life.
The intellectual capacity of humans to create artificial distinctions through the power of language does not, itself, render those artificial distinctions valid.
Amen, brother.
For those of you who still believe NJ public schools have your kids best interests at heart how would you like it if your third grade son was forced to attend class dressed up in womens clothing? These are the kinds of lesson plans the NJEA claims their members spend so many off-hours preparing?
Edisto Joe met The Real America at the Waffle House. We don't have a Waffle House in New Jersey. Coincidence? I think not.
Finally for today...
