Baghdad Bob Gibbs is pessimistic. Yesterday he said there is "no doubt" the Democrats will lose the House this November. Don't count your chickens Bob, and keep up the good work.

Speaking of November, it's time to vote in the latest Ten Buck Friday's poll. These elections don't win themselves you know.

The ever vile Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has apparently inserted wording into pending financial services overhaul legislation which would mandate that all federal agencies hire "Diversity Czars". If they're committed to promoting "diversity" perhaps we should assist the Democrats with finding some "diverse" people for them to hire. Grownups, for instance.

There certainly is a paucity of rational thought in the upper echelons of our government. Adding in a few seasoned professionals, as in folks who've actually had some experience in creating jobs, would go a long way toward helping the nation. Promoting "diversity" would just be icing on the cake.

From the Total Buzzkill Department: Yesterday was "7-11 Day", and in honor of the founding of 7-11 stores nationwide they were giving away free Slurpees to one and all. But before you could partake of that cold refreshment, the First Lady had a few words for you:

"In the area of consuming sugar-sweetened drinks, evidence is growing to suggest an association with weight gain in children and adolescents. Consuming sugar-sweetened drinks may be associated with obesity because these drinks are high in calories."

And listening to Michelle Obama may be associated with nausea, disgust, and a sudden urge to emulate the Founding Fathers and make your own damn decisions.

Sharia in action. "I think I'm having a heart attack, but only a female cardiologist can attend to me." We don't have one available at 3:10 in the freakin' morning, but we would really like to help you. "No, I'd rather go to another hospital."

She lived, and now she's suing for discrimination. Curiously, her lawyer is not female.

And I'll bet you thought Christian Scientists were nuts...

One last thought, if I was having a heart attack and I demanded a white cardiologist when one wasn't available, could I sue? Or would I (rightly I might add) be vilified as a racist?
