WyBlog, the best thing about New Jersey since the invention of the 24 hour diner.

The coolest thing happened yesterday, Robert Stacy McCain showcased moi with The Full Metal Jacket Reach-Around Award! (This spot rotates to honor those who link us in shameless obedience to Rule 2 of How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog.) I don't have a million hits (yet!) but I'm chugging along, having just topped 60,000. Thank you sir!
Earlier in the week William C. Duncan posted a link in The Corner to my discussion of how "gay rights" trampled all over religious freedom in the case of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. The Corner is the house blog of National Review and it is indeed pretty cool that one of their guys linked to me!
Bob Belvedere from The Camp of the Saints followed up my posting on idiotic EU phrase bans with some more examples and a warning that the same nonsense could spread to here if we're not careful. "The price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance". Or if you prefer, forewarned is forearmed.
My discussion of the downsides to the Amazon Kindle DRM scheme drew the attention of ramdom($foo). He's generally happy with his Kindle, but wary of what could turn out to be overly heavy handed tactics on the part of Amazon. Well, yeah.
On to the shoutouts!
Speaking of Obamacare, since the liberals are determined to eulogize Ted Kennedy by tacking his name on to the health care reform bill, Carol at No Sheeples Here! has come up with the perfect new name for it — ChappaquiddiCAREtm.
Pat in Shreveport notes Octoberfest is Here!! Um Pat? Save some for the rest of us, OK?
You'd think that I link to TrogloPundit enough but when he puts Britney Spears and Alzheimers Disease in the same headline, how could I not link to that?
Grandpa John uncovered a little known fact about the late Ted Kennedy. Plaxico Burress had no immediate comment.
TigerHawk brings us a list of the 12 most annoying types of Facebookers. In my view, "The Chronic Inviter" is by far the worst of the worst. That stuff drives me nuts.
Keith Olbermann got some props from Fishersville Mike. No, really. Check it out.
The Classic Liberal exposes another angle on the mendacity of the RIAA. It costs more to be convicted of file-sharing, than it does to be convicted of mugging someone, stalking someone, setting their house on fire, or even killing them (in a 2nd class way)! He asks "Is it just me? Or is somethin' just not smelling right?" It's not just you, and FYI the RIAA has never smelled right.
OK, on to "the bad". Technorati. Yup them again. Indexing and updating is an on-again, off-again thing that seems to be off-again. Or more accurately, it works soon after I complain but then promptly gets wedged again. Lather, rinse, repeat.
And now for "the ugly". Tammy got sacked. Or more accurately, "her position
was eliminated". But the end result is still the same. To top it off, New
Jersey Unemployment "lost" her claim. (But don't worry, government
bureaucrats won't screw up your health care!) She's got a few leads
on a new job so we'll see if Ben Bernanke is right when he tells us Barry's
Stimulus is "finally working".
