When the bigot in question is a liberal icon of course!
Today's example? Helen Thomas, doyenne of the White House press corps and current employee of Hearst International. Ms. Thomas has some rather, er unique, ideas on how to achieve peace in the Middle East.
Jews, get the hell out of Palestine, go back to Poland.
Imagine if you will that Rand Paul whilst opining on the 1964 Civil Rights Act had casually said, "Blacks should go back to Africa."
Truth be told, most liberals probably do believe he said something like that given the level of vitriol which ensued.
Seriously though, is one statement less excreable than the other?
Why then does Helen Thomas get a pass on her bigotry?
At some point in the future she will be gone, and it is highly likely that every living president will eulogize her memory. And why not, right? It isn't as though she said nice things about Strom Thurmond's presidential aspirations or called President Obama a "raghead".
Besides, everybody knows that anti-semitism only counts when it comes from real
haters like Mel Gibson.
