This time he says he really is sorry. Letterman's first lame apology to Sarah Palin explained away his crude remarks by pointing at 18 year old Bristol Palin instead of 14 year old Willow. When that didn't fly he manufactured a new excuse — he didn't know either daughter was at the Yankee game, and besides he should have made the joke about Rudy Guiliani instead. Rudy and who? Willow? Bristol? Gov. Palin?
Cynthia Yockey is leading the charge now, and she says — Letterman apology tonight is too little, too late - FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN!!!. And to her fellow conservatives who are backing down from the fight she has two words — MAN UP! She's right. Now is not the time to get all squishy. Letterman must do more than mumble another pathetic excuse-du-jour.
Late to the party (even though I've been emailing him every freaking day about it) is Robert Stacy McCain who believes Cynthia Yockey will succeed in her relentlessness because "Dave has pissed off the wrong lesbian".
Cynthia Yockey intends to see this thing through to the end. I'm with her. This isn't just about Letterman anymore. Robert Stacy McCain put it quite succinctly — It's about "don't f*** with us."
