A lot of rumors have been flying in the lefty blogosphere and Twitterverse concerning alleged "threats" directed at Amy Myers by Tea Partyers and other nefarious "Right Wing" operators (like me).
Amy Myers is the 16 year old budding Constitutional Scholar from Cherry Hill, NJ who recently challenged Rep. Michele Bachmann to a debate. Some of us reacted with disdain, but her father soon took to the airwaves and interwebs to proclaim that Amy feared for her personal safety. Right-wingers had threatened to rape her!
All along we had the feeling that the threat assessment was overblown, especially since no one has produced a single screen shot, tweet, or crayon drawing to corroborate such serious allegations.
And now, Wayne Myers admits it was all bullshit, in a comment he posted to the Courier Post web site.
I am Amy's father.
After reading this article, and probably not reading the original articles at City Pages & Yahoo, several seem to be posting many false beliefs and accusations about my daughter's actions or mine. It hasn't yet escalated to calling her names and the like, but after seeing some of these posts... it won't be long.
Objection!, Your Honor, Conjecture!
"It won't be long." WTF?
I haven't yet won the lottery, but since my wife keeps buying tickets... it won't be long!
Alyssa Milano hasn't retweeted me yet, but... it won't be long!
See where I'm going with this? The "threats", they exist only in Wayne Myers' fevered imagination. One could almost believe, and trust me I'm just thinking out loud here, that Wayne Myers wants there to be threats, so he can validate his own twisted progressive HuffPo worldview. They're the Good Guys, and it's us evil Tea-Bagger Rethuglicans who'll stop at nothing to thwart the dawning of the new utopia.
Except now we know the truth.

Welcome Arianna's Army!
Think Andrew Reinbach gave you the whole story? Think again!
You can wipe that smirk off your face now.
