It's always "blame Bush." Easier than taking responsibility. Or solving the problem. The thing is though, Joe Biden was right there cheering along with everyone else when those two wars were approved.
Biden pointed to Ryan and blamed the recession on "this man voting to put two wars on a credit card…" The only problem with this assertion is then-Sen. Joe Biden voted for those "two wars on credit cards" too. He doesn't want you to know that, but it's absolutely true.
Oops. Talk about an inconvenient truth.
Then there's the equally inconvenient fact that when it comes to putting stuff "on credit cards" Obama makes Bush look like a piker. Here's my favorite chart again:
Notice anything different between 2008 and 2009? Take your time, look closely, you wouldn't want to draw the wrong conclusion.
Yeah, pretty obvious, right? In 2008 the deficit was a little north of $400 billion. Yet only a year later it zoomed to $1.41 trillion, a three-fold increase.
What major historical event occured between 2008 and 2009?
Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?
Yes, you in the back. Barack Obama took office? Ayup, I believe you're on to something. And then Congress passed his ginormous boondoggle stimulus package? Right again, that's exactly what they did.
Notice anything else, perhaps about 2010, 11, and 12? I'll give you a hint. See those White House Estimate and CBO Estimate lines? Care to guess why the Actual Deficit bar always turns out to be way bigger than anything Obama's minions have estimated?
The country ain't running on Hopium, that's why. I'd say Obama's been spending money like a drunken sailor, except that's unfair to drunken sailors. They stop spending when their money runs out. Obama calls up TurboTax Timmy Geithner and he prints up a few billion new stacks of hundred dollar bills. Backed, of course, by the Full Faith and Credit of the Bank of China.
Now consider this. For the last three years Obama's deficits have outpaced his own deficit estimates. Then take a look at how the estimates not-so-slowly start getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
Kinda makes you wonder if Obama's got what it takes to tame this deficit monster, doesn't it?
You Obamabots don't have to answer that if you don't want to. The numbers speak for themselves. They scream actually, for new leadership.
Mitt Romney for president! Because the credit card bills just came due,
and raiding our grandchildren's piggy banks is not an option.
