Stepfanie Velez-Gentry is not your run-of-the-mill state assembly candidate.
She fits the mold alright — small busineswoman, mother of 2, community
volunteer, and grass-roots Republican. Her
platform emphasizes lower taxes and streamlining government.
It's the nature of her small business that's generating considerable buzz; buzz that just might give her an edge in the solidly Democratic 5th assembly district. Mrs. Velez-Gentry is the proprietor of Nookie Parties, LLC.
"It's kind of like a Tupperware party, but with adult novelties," the 29-year-old mother of two explained.
Or, as her Web site puts it, "For parties you will always remember and nights you will never forget."
"We enhance people's romances and make people happy. It's wonderful," she said. " It makes the moms and dads happy, and then everyone is happy."
She started the business in 2007 to help support her family. There are now over 200 reps nationwide selling her products.
So who better than a small business owner to counter the anti-business policies of Governor Jon Corzine and the tax-and-spend democrats?
UPDATE 18 Oct 2009 14:26:
Smitty seconds my endorsement of Mrs. Velez-Gentry's candidacy.
The Classic Liberal also lends his support.

Technorati is indexing me again! They had to make a code change to fix the problem with my blog getting stuck in their queue. Kudos to Eric M. and the guys at GetSatisfaction.com where they have "community powered support for Technorati".
Well, they're "sorta, kinda" indexing me anyway. It's on a 24 hour tape delay or something. So I never get picked up by Memeorandum because they pull from Technorati and Technorati has stuff I posted yesterday listed as my latest blog entry. And that's old news to Memeorandum.
Wankers.
