Michele Bachmann reiterated her pledge to get gas prices below $2 per gallon. The other candidates danced around the idea that a president has the ability to impact energy prices. Governor One Percent said he wouldn't dictate pricing to the free market while Mitt Romney shoveled the usual platitudes about energy security and independence. But Ron Paul took things way out to right field:
"I can do much better than that," he said. "I can get you a gallon of gasoline for a dime."
One thin dime per gallon? Do tell!
"You can buy a gallon of gas today for a silver dime," Paul added. "A silver dime is worth $3.50. It's all about inflation and too many regulations."
Ah hah, a silver dime. Along with a return to the Gold Standard of course.
