President Obama held a rally in Philadephia yesterday, imploring restless Democrats in a predominantly black neighborhood to rekindle the same enthusiasm they showed in 2008.
"Two years ago you defied the conventional wisdom in Washington," Obama told thousands of screaming supporters Sunday at a campaign rally in a predominantly black area of Philadelphia.
The message echoed the one Obama delivered last week at a historically black college in Maryland. "Don't make me look bad, now," he said, urging the mostly African-American audience to vote.
So once again it's up to the New Black Panthers to enthusiasticly block every polling station as they threaten reluctant voters with nightsticks and billy clubs. The message is clear — vote his way, or else.
Nothing they could do would make Barry look bad. I mean, it's not like Attorney General Eric Holder's Social Justice Department would ever do anything if militant Blacks intimidate folks who aren't 110% behind The Chosen One. It's perfectly reasonable for the downtrodden victims of systemic racism to use any means necessary to ensure that their candidate prevails, right? And of course you're a racist if you don't see things their way.
Vice President Joe Biden told the crowd, "We need you as fired up as you were in 2008."
Well, in 2008 these guys were certainly "fired up". Were they in yesterday's crowd, receiving their marching orders for November 2nd?
"Vote Democrat or we'll beat you into a pulp" has a nice ring to it, don't you think? It's certainly more to the point than any other message that Obama, Axelrod, Jarrett et al have managed to cobble together so far.
We'll have to see if it's as effective as "It's the economy, stupid." I'm
thinking, no. Hunger is a powerful motivator and Obama has certainly proven
that you can't eat HopenChange.
