How out of touch do you need to be in order to say this:
President Obama: The truth of the matter is that, as I said, we created 4.3 million jobs over the last 27 months, over 800,000 just this year alone.
The private sector is doing fine. Where we're seeing weaknesses in our economy have to do with state and local government. Oftentimes cuts initiated by, you know, Governors or mayors who are not getting the kind of help that they have in the past from the federal government and who don't have the same kind of flexibility as the federal government in dealing with fewer revenues coming in.
Via Pundette, who notes:
Of course, being a devout statist, he values the public sector over the private, but he's not supposed to call a press conference and announce it to the world.
But, when he said that stuff to his Hollywood friends they all nodded knowingly!
Because they've got jobs. And money. Which for reasons known only to their psychiatrists, they're willingly giving to Barack Obama.
More government. Good grief! Why doesn't he just subsume every American into the government payroll and get it over with? What's that? He's already headed down that path? Yeah, never-ending unemployment checks, food stamps for everyone, mortgage subsidies for deadbeats, I see what you mean.
I suppose that for his next trick he'll propose lowering the retirement age so more of us will become dependent on Social Security.
Ayup. There's Obama's plan to fix our economy. More public sector unionistas!
Because who else is gonna vote for Democrats?
