This kind of stuff cracks me up. Millionaires to Obama: Tax us more!
More than 40 of the nation's millionaires have joined Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength to ask President Obama to discontinue the tax breaks established for them during the Bush administration.
"For the fiscal health of our nation and the well-being of our fellow citizens, we ask that you allow tax cuts on incomes over $1,000,000 to expire at the end of this year as scheduled," their website states. "We make this request as loyal citizens who now or in the past earned an income of $1,000,000 per year or more."
The group includes many big-time Democratic donors such as Gail Furman, trial lawyer Guy Saperstein and Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The list remains open to millionaires who want to sign on.
What these bozos really mean is tax everyone more. If they're so gung-ho to improve "the fiscal health of our nation and the well-being of our fellow citizens" all they have to do is write a check.
That's right, anyone who wants to can voluntarily pay more taxes anytime they want! Simply make your check payable to "Bureau of the Public Debt" and mail it to the IRS. No muss, no fuss, no tax increase necessary.
I have conversations like this with liberals all the time. A typical liberal friend will glibly state how she wouldn't mind paying more taxes because she can afford it.
"Go ahead," I reply. "Send the IRS a check."
You wanna see that deer-in-the-headlights look? Just suggest to a liberal that he voluntarily write a bigger check to the IRS. That's what happens every single time I say it. "But, but, but... Why should I pay more unless they force me to pay more?"
Because it was your idea numbnuts, that's why!
"But you can afford it. You should pay more too!"
Some of us are Taxed Enough Already. What I choose to do with my money is my own business.
It's the same with this latest batch of moronic millionaires. They don't actually want to personally pay more taxes. They want the government to force everyone to pay more taxes. Their outward altruism is in reality a clarion call for statist coercion.
No sale. You guys wanna be big shots?
Write a check to the IRS and STFU. The rest of us have better things
to do with our money.
