Purely coincidentally, I'm sure.
Salomon Melgen is one helluva ophthalmologist. He's gotta be, last year he saw 894 patients a total of 94,000 times, and collected $20.8 million tax dollars for his efforts.
That's right, the magical Dr. Melgen claims he performed 94,000 surgical procedures. In one year. More than 60 times the number of procedures claimed by his average peer.
He's not just an "average" doctor, is he? He's SuperDoctor!
Let's do a little math. If the indefatigable Dr. Melgen worked 7 days a week without a vacation that means he saw 258 patients a day. Suppose he put in 14 hour days, week after week, for the whole year. That works out to one patient every three minutes. Without stopping to eat or pee.
Ah but, Melgen doesn't work that hard. Because he has plenty of time to fly his buddy the Senator from New Jersey down to his villa in the Dominican Republic. And to throw lavish parties on the senator's behalf too.
In return, Bob Menendez would have us believe that Dr. Melgen isn't scamming the government.
Gimme a break Bob.
