Well, now we know why Hillary had to delete those emails about Chelsea's wedding. Because the wedding was paid for by the Clinton Foundation, aka the family slush fund masquerading as a "charity."
As with many of the Doug Band email chains, the rabbit hole just got a little deeper today with Band accusing of Chelsea of "using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade" among other accusations. He also concludes with another veiled threat on the consequences "once we go down this road...."
But what else could we expect when their own lawyers warned that the Clinton Foundation was "more political operation than charity."
A third-party review of the Clinton Foundation found the charity operated "more like a political operation" than a philanthropy in Nov. 2011 — just a few months before the end of Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state.
The revelation was included in a "confidential" memo prepared by Kumiki Gibson, then a lawyer at Williams & Connolly, the firm that has represented Clinton throughout her email controversy. That memo was published Saturday by WikiLeaks, along with hundreds of other emails taken from the inbox of Clinton campaign chair John Podesta.
"The Foundation (as opposed to its initiatives, which I have not reviewed) operates more like a political operation focused on immediate situations, tasks, and events, as opposed to a professional, strategic, and sustainable corporation committed to advancing its overall mission," the review stated.
Except, considering that the Clinton Foundation's "overall mission" is to advance the political career of Hillary Clinton, I'd say Mr. Gibson was being disingenuous.
In another revelation from yesterday's email dump we learn that back in 2011 the government of Qatar wanted to wish Bill Clinton a happy 65th birthday by presenting his foundation with a check for one million dollars. No strings. Just well wishes. Or so he and Hillary would have us believe. Because everyone whose wife isn't running for president gets million dollar checks from rich Arabs, right?
Mine must have gotten lost in the mail.
I know that nothing I say here will convince die-hard Clintonistas she's really corrupt to the core. So take it from one of her own friends. Brent Budowsky was a legislative assistant to Democratic Senator Lloyd Bentson and is an "advocacy journalist" with LA Progressive who claims he is Hillary's "friend."
Budowsky told Podesta how discouraged he was to learn "that problems with foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation continue, Hillary Clinton was still making paid speeches for hire this week, and Tony Rodham is hustling gold mining deals in Haiti." Tony Rodham is Hillary Clinton's brother.
"If there is one thing that could well bring down a Hillary Clinton candidacy, it is this cycle of money issues about which I am now feeling red alerts, loud bells, warning signals, and red flags," Budowsky wrote in a March 21, 2015, email to John Podesta. Wikileaks made the email public Saturday.
It remains to be seen whether or not Clinton Foundation corruption does indeed
"bring down" Hillary's candidacy. I sure hope it does, because the stench of
a Hillary Clinton presidency would forever taint our republic.
