My post on David Letterman being an absolute piece of excrement is collecting a lot of Google and Yahoo hits on "boycott Letterman" and "boycott Letterman's advertisers". Yes, I am suggesting that we should all boycott CBS and Letterman's advertisers. Apparently I am not alone.
Redstate has the canonical list of Letterman's advertisers. They too are calling for a boycott. Hear, hear!
It's important that we hit CBS and Letterman's enablers where it hurts, in their pocketbooks. Here is Redstate's list of his advertisers:
Let's see. Best Western? Embassy Suites? There are lots of other hotels
to choose from. Lexus? I own a Land Rover; you should too! Capital One?
It's not in my wallet! Ebay? Try Yahoo! auctions. Lifelock?
It's run by a scam artist; somehow that figures. DiTech? Mortgage parasites.
Bowflex? Overpriced; join your local gym. Mars Candy? Who needs M&Ms!
What's Intel doing there? My laptop has an AMD processor, yours can too.
The point is we can put a crimp in Letterman's style. There are plenty of alternatives to the companies who facilitate his misogynistic hatred. The economy is already down. They don't need a boycott. If they see us walking away from their products they just might jettison Letterman to save their own hides. Good!
If a company comes out publically against Letterman, reward them. Vote with your dollars. We can take him down.
Join the Letterman boycott! His mealy-mouthed non-apology ("Gov. Palin should come on my show") is less than convincing. Hit the Memeorandum thread, nobody believes he's seriously contrite.
David Letterman needs to experience "funemployment" firsthand!
UPDATE 11 Jun 2009 10:22:
Little Miss Attila and Conservatives 4 Palin are also talking boycott.
I would like to emphasize that this is not about politics; it is about getting David Letterman off the air if at all possible. Any father or mother should understand this, as should any woman who was ever 14 years old.
Amen. I have a 7 year old daughter. If David Letterman ever said something like that about her I'd punch his lights out.

You guys asked for sponsor contact info, and The WyBlog delivers!
This is just the first set with the "major" advertisers listed. Hey, I have a real job too! I'll add to the list later on today so check back. Or, grab my Rss feed and you'll be in the loop.
UPDATE 11 Jun 2009 13:12:
Ancestry.com is not a sponsor of the David Letterman show. I got this email from their PR folks:
Chris,
I can confirm to you that Ancestry.com is not an advertiser or sponsor of the CBS Late Show with David Letterman. It is unclear how the company's name ended up on this list, but it appears to be a mistake. We would appreciate your help in spreading the correct information.
Thanks,
Mike Ward, Ancestry.com Public Relations
I crossed out Ancestry.com from the list of advertisers. Please don't hassle them.
UPDATE 11 Jun 2009 14:37:
Embasssy Suites pulled their online ads! They had ads on cbs.com that have been taken down. They do not advertise on his TV show.
So, please do not boycott Embassy Suites!
UPDATE 11 Jun 2009 17:02:
According to reader Gary Bucher, Lifelock is not a sponsor of Letterman's show.
Dear Gary,
At no time has LifeLock ever sponsored David Letterman or any other national CBS talk show. It is possible, however, that depending on where you live that your local station inserted one of our advertisements into an open slot. We have no control what these stations do with the open slot or where the station places our approved advertisement.
We appreciate your email and assure you again, that we have no affiliation with Mr. Letterman's show.
Sincerely,
Tami Nealy

eBay — We don't do Letterman
I received the following email from eBay.
Dear Mr. Wysocki,
I am sending the following letter on behalf of eBay Inc. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Dear Mr. Wysocki,
I would like to inform you that eBay has no current advertising affiliation with the CBS Late Show with David Letterman. As part of eBay's regular online advertising, some eBay ads may have appeared on cbs.com.
These ads do not indicate eBay's support for particular shows, nor do they suggest support for the views expressed by Mr. Letterman.
We appreciate your initiative on these issues, but I assure you that eBay has no affiliation with Mr. Letterman's show.
Sincerely,
eBay Corporate Communications
