News Ticker WidgetThe Climate Change Gab Fest must go on, or the terrorists will win!
President Obama calls the upcoming climate summit with world leaders in Paris a "powerful rebuke" to Islamic State terrorists who attacked the city earlier this month.
"What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be, when the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children," Obama marveled, after previewing his attendance at the summit which begins next week in Paris.
Because a bunch of guys standing around talking about a carbon tax will definitely have Da'esh quaking in their sandals. Or as one of my regular readers put it recently, maybe he plans to crush them with solar panels until they scream for mercy.
There's probably even instructions for building your own windmill on the back of those leaflets he airmails to the terrorists before bombing them. Anything to save Mother Gaia, right?
Here's a thought Chief. Why can't the world stand as one and crush these jihadi bastards once and for all? Shouldn't that be your priority? What's it gonna take to keep your attention focused for more than a day or two on the guys trying to kill us?
I know, I'm asking a lot. Especially since its basketball season.
So would it help if we said these guys were secretly Republicans? I heard you really, really, really get all lathered up when you're going after Republicans.
Because face it, whatever you're pretending to do about terrorism, so far, it isn't working. In fact, you're making things worse. A whole lot worse.
Last year you said Da'esh was "the JV team." Two weeks ago they were "contained." A few short days ago they were "nothing to fear."
But today? Today they're "a serious threat to all of us" and you've issued a worldwide travel alert for U.S. citizens, one day before the busiest travel day of the year.
No wonder you'd rather we all talk about gun control over Thanksgiving dinner.
Do you realize just how ridiculous that sounds? Disarming America in the face of "a serious threat to all of us?"
Oh, right, the real serious threat is Climate Change. Or so you say.
I think Da'esh has other plans.

President Golfpants talks tough.
President Barack Obama said Sunday the U.S.-led coalition "will not relent" in the fight against the Islamic State and was confident the terror group would be defeated, insisting the world would not accept the extremists' attacks on civilians in Paris and elsewhere as the "new normal."
Uh huh. Once again he's full of it. Because it turns out he relents about 75% of the time.
U.S. military pilots who have returned from the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq are confirming that they were blocked from dropping 75 percent of their ordnance on terror targets because they could not get clearance to launch a strike, according to a leading member of Congress.
Strikes against the Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL) targets are often blocked due to an Obama administration policy to prevent civilian deaths and collateral damage, according to Rep. Ed Royce (R., Calif.), chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
The policy is being blamed for allowing Islamic State militants to gain strength across Iraq and continue waging terrorist strikes throughout the region and beyond, according to Royce and former military leaders who spoke Wednesday about flaws in the U.S. campaign to combat the Islamic State.
"You went 12 full months while ISIS was on the march without the U.S. using that air power and now as the pilots come back to talk to us they say three-quarters of our ordnance we can't drop, we can't get clearance even when we have a clear target in front of us," Royce said. "I don't understand this strategy at all because this is what has allowed ISIS the advantage and ability to recruit."
Can you imagine George Patton or Douglas MacArthur waiting for "clearance" before blowing the shit out of the enemy?
In the immortal words of General Anthony McAuliffe, Obama's strategy is "nuts."
But what else would you expect from the guy who said he's not interested in "America winning?"
Meanwhile, Putin is going after ISIS with guns blazing, and getting results. So naturally Obama is telling him to cool his jets.
Speaking at the end of the ASEAN summit in Malaysia, Obama also pressed Russian President Vladimir Putin to align himself with the U.S.-led coalition, noting that the Islamic State has been accused of bringing down a Russian airliner last month, killing 224 people.
"He needs to go after the people who killed Russia's citizens," Obama said of Putin.
Translation? Yo Vlad, you're making me look bad.
Now look, I'm no fan of Putin. He's a tyrant, and no friend of freedom. But as Churchill famously said, "If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons" — meaning, of course, the enemy of my enemy is my (temporary) friend.
Were it that we had such clarity from the narcissistic quisling currently
occupying the White House.

Our current president is a thin-skinned narcissist who "jokes" about siccing the IRS on his enemies.
His annointed successor is a vindictive harridan who is equally thin-skinned.
In what appears to be a first for a serious presidential contender, Hillary Clinton's campaign is going after five comedians who made fun of the former Secretary of State in standup skits at a popular Hollywood comedy club.
Masada told Judicial Watch that, as soon as the video got posted on the Laugh Factory website, he received a phone call from a "prominent" person inside Clinton's campaign. "He said the video was disgusting and asked who put me up to this," Masada said. The Clinton staffer, who Masada did not want to identify, also demanded to know the names and phone numbers of the comedians that appear in the video. Masada refused and hung up. He insists that the comedy stage is a sanctuary for freedom of speech no matter who is offended. "Just last night we had (Emmy-award winner) Dana Carvey doing Donald Trump and it was hilarious," Masada said.
Of course she wants names! She'll have them all arrested, just like last time. It's what she does.
The video is, appropriately enough, entitled "Hillary vs. the First Amendment." I didn't find it particularly funny, or offensive, but hey, I'm not a major presidential candidate. Or a Democrat.
On the other hand, by calling attention to it, a lot more people are going to be curious about what got her adult diapers in a twist. This is known colloquially as The Streisand Effect, and it's a doozy. The Internet never forgets, Hillary. You might want to remember that.
What's scary though is the precedent it sets for her potential presidency.
Because the Laugh Factory won't be laughing, or hanging up, when it's the IRS or the DEA or the state liquor control board on the other end of the line. There are probably thousands of budding Lois Lerners lurking in the bowels of government, just waiting for the right nudge to send them into a frenzy of fascist fulmination aimed right at the Dowager Empress of Chappaqua's perceived enemies. And she'll gladly empower each and every one of them for her own personal gain.
Remember when dissent was the highest form of patriotism?
Yeah, me neither.

In the wake of the Paris terrorism attacks, should we enhance screening of Syrian refugees? Obama says "no."
President Obama threatened late Wednesday to veto legislation aimed at improving screening for Syrian refugees, potentially putting the White House and Congress on a collision course in a matter of days.
The veto threat came as the House was preparing the bill -- which sets high hurdles for refugee admission including FBI background checks and sign-offs by top officials -- for floor action as early as Thursday. In a committee meeting, Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, accused the president of confusing the public about the intentions of the legislation.
Moments later, the White House issued a statement defending the current screening process and claiming the changes called for under the bill would create "significant delays and obstacles" for the existing vetting program.
"Given the lives at stake and the critical importance to our partners in the Middle East and Europe of American leadership in addressing the Syrian refugee crisis ... [Obama] would veto the bill," the White House said.
American leadership? Didn't Obama say he wasn't "interested" in that?
Why yes, yes he did.
Fortunately, for now, Honduras is doing the vetting Obama won't do.
Honduran authorities have detained five Syrian nationals who were trying to reach the United States using stolen Greek passports, but there are no signs of any links to last week's attacks in Paris, police said.
The Syrian men were held late on Tuesday in the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa, on arrival from Costa Rica, and had been planning to head to the border with neighboring Guatemala. The passports had been doctored to replace the photographs with those of the Syrians, police said.
"We received information from (fellow) police services that these five Syrians left Greece and passed through Turkey, Brazil, Argentina and San Jose in Costa Rica before finally reaching Tegucigalpa," said Anibal Baca, spokesman for Honduras' police. "They are normal Syrians."
Just "normal" Syrians, on a pleasure trip.
Of course, "pleasure" for them is killing infidels.
Here's where I say, "thanks Honduras!"
And it's also where I say, "typical Obama," siding with terrorists instead of protecting America. It's who he is. It's what he does.
And it'll get us all killed.
But then, Obama wants that too.

Add New Jersey to the growing list of states closed to Obama's Syrian RefuJihadi Resettlement Program.
Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday sent a letter to President Obama saying New Jersey will not accept any Syrian refugees from the war-torn country.
In the letter, Christie argued the Obama administration failed to notify the state or coordinate with New Jersey agencies on resettling refugees in the Garden State.
"The threat posed to New Jersey by ISIS is very real. I write to inform you that I will not accept any refugees from Syria in the wake of the deadly terrorist attack in Paris," Christie wrote.
"I urge you to halt your plans to accept more Syrian refugees in the United States," he said. "I have no doubt that ISIS will try to exploit American humanitarianism to expose Americans to similar deadly risk."
Tough talk, right?
Maybe. But then, in his next breath, Christie explicitly refused to endorse re-establishing any surveillance of Muslims and their mosques.
Gov. Chris Christie on Monday rejected a suggestion by Republican presidential rival Donald Trump that the U.S. should "strongly consider" closing mosques in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks.
"We don't need to do that," the New Jersey governor said during an interview on conservative host Hugh Hewitt's radio show.
"What we need to do is to make sure we're getting every bit of intelligence we need to intercept those folks before they act."
New Jersey, which has one of the largest Muslim populations in the U.S., is home to 109 mosques — tied with Illinois for the most in the country, after New York, California, Texas, and Florida, according to statistics from a study by the Hartford Institute for Religion Research.
How he plans to get "every bit of intelligence" without watching those mosques, something he repeatedly opposed, remains a mystery to me. Because it's not like a mosque in New Jersey has ever been used to incite terrorism, right?
So I sure hope that "largest Muslim population in the U.S." we have around here
is chock-full of those peaceful fellers I keep hearing so much about. Otherwise
we just might be in for a rude surprise. And I really don't want to have to
say, again, "I told you so."

Can we please get a Real President, like now? Because this Obama fellow is rooting for the terrorists.
During a press conference detailing his administration's strategy to destroy ISIS following several devastating terrorist attacks in Paris, President Barack Obama said he's not interested in "pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning[.]"
Why?
"I'm too busy for that."
Yeah, too busy playing golf.
Or too busy releasing dangerous terrorsts from Gitmo.
And too busy resettling Syrian "refujihadis" inside the US. People, that by the way, their own Arab Brothers don't even want any part of, for fear of terrorism.
He was even too busy to show up for a moment of silence in remembrance of the Paris victims. And then too busy to light up the White House in solidarity with our oldest ally (although he wasn't too busy to light it up for Teh Gheyz).
Meanwhile, France and Jordan are busy too, bombing Daesh.
Maybe Obama is also busy in his own way, composing yet another Sternly Worded Letter blaming the whole thing on a YouTube video, or something.
Speaking of YouTube videos, hey Hillary voters, consider this.
When terrorists kill Frenchmen in Paris, France kills terrorists.
When terrorists killed Russians flying to Egypt, Russia killed terrorists.
When terrorists killed Americans in Benghazi, Hillary arrested a YouTuber.
And then she told us her biggest enemy is Republicans.
Which, naturally, totally qualifies her to be our next president, right?
Well sure! She can't be any worse than Obama, because frankly, that's just not possible.
But, silly me, I'm hoping for someone better. Much, much better. As in, someone who's actually interested in America winning.
Because our survival as a nation is hanging in the balance. And these two
bozos aren't taking that survival very seriously.

Last night Ed Driscoll posted this list at Instapundit. And it immediately laid bare to me precisely just how screwed we are as a country.
Because these are considered to be the ten most important issues facing the US Army under the "leadership" of one Barack Hussein Obama.
1. Prevent Sexual Assault
2. Balance and Transition the Army
3. Champion Soldiers, Civilians and Families
4. Bolster Army activities in the Asia-Pacific region
5. Ensure personal accountability on and off the battlefield
6. Tell the Army Story
7. Implement Army Total Force policy
8. Prudently manage reset, modernization, research and development
9. Strengthen information assurance and cyber security
10. Develop effective energy solutions
Notice anything missing from that list?
I guess Obama doesn't actually want to defeat ISIS, since, you know, it's not on The List. Maybe it's just an oversight, along with anything to do with Iran, Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
And he's also presumably not interested in helping protect our NATO allies from a resurgent Russia, because, again, it's not on The List.
But, what about China rattling their sabers? Does that fall under priority number 4? Um, no. The executive summary on that one is all about "building partnerships" for "common interests."
I don't know about you, but I have a "common interest" in not being invaded or killed by Arabs, Iranians, Russians, or Chinese. Something tells me Obama's Army commanders don't share that desire.
If that doesn't scare the living crap out of you, well, you're probably a
clueless liberal who's planning to vote for Hillary.

Hey, let's put the fox in charge of the henhouse, and make the US one big sanctuary city!
A former San Francisco police chief and vocal supporter of a sanctuary cities policy is on a short list of candidates to become the new chief of the Border Patrol, according to sources.
As police chief, Heather Fong shielded illegal immigrants, including aliens who committed crimes, from deportation. In contrast, it is the job of the U.S. Border Patrol to catch and deport all illegal immigrants, including those with a criminal history.
What could go wrong?
"If they bring (a police chief) in for political purposes based on the sanctuary cities model, that politicizes the job and I think it completely undermines credibility and morale in the organization," House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mike McCaul, R-Texas, told Fox News.
"If you have someone who is advocating for sanctuary cities, that's the opposite side. They welcome these illegal immigrants to stay in the country. And so I think it's at cross-purpose with the mission itself."
Uh, Mike? Obama's mission is to keep these illegal aliens in the country. He's said so, many, many times. And so has Ms. Fong.
During her five years as the chief of SFPD, Fong refused to cooperate with ICE, telling reporters in November 2008, "We do not cooperate with ICE when they go out for enforcement of immigration violations of the law."
A few months earlier, she appeared in a public service campaign telling illegal immigrants they're welcome in the city. In promoting San Francisco's sanctuary city policy on TV, radio, posters and brochures in five languages, Fong said illegal immigrants had nothing to fear under her watch. "San Francisco is committed to providing safe access to public services to our communities," she said.
In a news conference unveiling the campaign, she told reporters, "We do not work on enforcing immigration laws."
Clearly she's Obama's perfect candidate for this job. And appointing her would send a big F-U to the appeals court that just told him he can't unilaterally decide to ignore those immigration laws. So she's obviously a shoo-in, given that the position does not require congressional approval.
It's just another way he can "fundamentally transform" America. Because I
always wanted to live in a
third-world hellhole populated by
illiterate,
disease-ridden,
criminal
parasites. How about you?

Texans overwhelmingly don't want boys in the ladies' room.
An ordinance in Houston that provided far-reaching nondiscrimination rights for gay and transgender people went down in flames on Tuesday night — and it wasn't remotely close.
The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance — Proposition 1 on the local ballot would have extended bans on employment and housing discrimination based on race, religion, sex, national original and other classifications to gay people, bisexual people and transgender people.
Foes of the law focused like a laser beam on the transgender aspect of the law. They characterized it as the "bathroom ordinance," saying it would allow men who wear women's clothes — and sexual predators — to use public women's bathrooms. They also said the ordinance would conflict with religious liberty and generate a raft of litigation against Houston's small businesses.
By the wee hours of Tuesday morning, 95 percent of the ballots had been counted and 61 percent of voters opposed Proposition 1, according to The Texas Tribune.
Common sense, right?
But in a topsy-turvy world where Bruce Jenner can put on a dress and be crowned "Woman of the Year" it's only a matter of time before the forces of depravity rise up again to promote the transgender insanity.
In fact, they're already doing just that in Chicago. A boy, pretending to be a girl, demanded to use the girls locker room in his high school. The school, not wanting to be labeled "trans-phobic" (whatever the bloody hell that means!) bent over backwards to accommodate him. To which Obama said, "not enough."
President Barack Obama's Department of Education has ordered a suburban Chicago school to allow a boy who claims to be a girl into the girls' locker room, whether or not the girls or their parents like it.
The federal decision about who gets to use each toilet and shower in a distant Chicago school came after a male student sued a high school in Palatine, a northwestern suburb of Chicago. The suit claims that the student's civil rightsT were violated by a school rule which provided the two sexes their own restrooms and locker rooms.
The school offered this singular student a special area for changing clothes and using the restroom. But the boy and his lawyer instead demanded that school officials submit to his claim that he is female and so can use the girls' facilities.
A boy who says he's a girl is either (a) mentally ill, or (b) a pervert looking for cheap thrills. Or, quite possibly, both. But we aren't allowed to say that in public, because the Social Justice Warriors have decreed that whatever anyone "feels" is automatically valid, no matter how idiotic or repugnant it really is.
Coming soon, Abdul brings his pet goat to the prom. It's the love that dare not speak its name, yet. Because remember, Love Wins!
Sanity? Yeah, sanity lost a long time ago. And everyone has to be inconvenienced
just so one Special Snowflake can have his 15 minutes of fame. If that isn't
tyranny, I don't know what is.

Second only to New York, the Garden State's tax burden almost reigns supreme.
New Jerseyans already know it to be true, but a Forbes analysis of state-by-state tax burdens places the Garden State near the top of its "Worst States for Taxes" list.
New Jersey lands in second place, behind New York, in the comparison of state and local taxes.
Connecticut, California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island, Vermont and Pennsylvania round out the top 10, according to the Forbes report.
Notice anything remarkable about that Top Ten list?
Yup, they're "blue" states. Run by progressive Democrats. Imagine that!
The analysis compares local taxes and the effective tax rate for single people with $50,000 in reportable income, a figure Forbes said it based on the $53,046 median U.S. Household income from 2009 to 2013.
In New Jersey, which has one of the most progressive tax structures in the country, that income tax rate is 2.54 percent, which Forbes combined with local taxes to establish a 12.3 percent state and local tax burden.
So, how do we do it?
Crushing property taxes! We are the 0.2 percent!!!
While the report doesn't specify which local taxes are included (some states have local income taxes or local sales taxes), presumably New Jersey's steep property taxes had a hand in the state's ranking. Last year, the average property tax bill here was $8,161, while nationally only 0.2 percent of U.S. homeowners paid more than $8,000.
C'mon NJ Democrats, you know you want us to be Number 1. Raise that gas tax! We can't let New York have all the fun, can we?
Oh, and if anyone wants to know why Chris Christie's presidential campaign is
languishing in the doldrums, well this, this is why. Remember when he promised
to "do something" about NJ's onerous tax burden? Yeah, me neither.

Yeah it's an off-year election, and no, you can't yet vote for (or against) Donald Trump. But it's still important. Really important.
Why?
Because all politics are local. And nothing is more local than the Caldwell Council and the C-WC school board.
That's why you need to get out and vote to re-elect Rich Hauser to the Caldwell Council. And send Rick Alonso to his first term as a Council Member. Rich's record speaks for itself, he's helped keep municipal taxes low, he's worked to upgrade the water and sewer mains and repave streets around town, and he's made sure the Council is accountable to the citizens of our fair town.
Rick is a local guy and well-known community volunteer who's always willing to go the extra mile for our town. His business savvy and energy will be a welcome addition to Mayor Dassing's team.
Their opponents are two retreads from last year, because incumbent Democrat Ed Durkin is bowing out after one essentially ineffective term. Frank Rodgers and Stephen Flack lost in 2014, and they're back looking for another chance. except they're once again singing the same tired old tune about "partisanship," which apparently only Republicans are ever guilty of. Or something.
The truth is, it's the local Democrats, led by erstwhile acting-governor-in-waiting-for-life Dick Codey who are rabidly partisan, seeking to reload Town Hall with their cronies the minute they regain a council majority.
Town Hall works. The council is in good hands, and there's no need to rock the boat.
Re-elect Rich Hauser. Elect Rick Alonso. You'll be glad you did.
Now, on to the school board. You know, the out-of-control spendthrifts who raised our property taxes by 10½ percent this year. These guys wouldn't know how to cut costs if you handed them a hatchet and an instruction manual. So it's inconceivable to me that the two jimokes up for re-election are running unopposed.
They're obviously going to "win," but we can send them a message. Don't vote for the school board candidates. Because a non-vote shows "no confidence" in their, ahem, "leadership." Let them see their vote totals come in way under the number of voters and maybe, just maybe, they'll get a clue. I doubt it will impact their thick heads, because they're completely unaccountable now that we can't vote on their bloated budget, but it's worth a shot.
So there you have it. Tomorrow November 3rd, vote Line B — Hauser and
Alonso, and don't cast any vote for school board.
