Five years since it was shoved down our throats in the dark of night, and despite all the debacles encountered along the way, Obamacare's supporters continue to insist it's "working." Their definition of "working" must be different from mine. Because even if it might have succeeded in forcing people to buy health insurance, those people can't find a doctor who'll take it.
The Affordable Care Act has provided a path for 420,500 low-income New Jersey residents to gain insurance through the Medicaid program, but a new study says the state ranks last in the nation in doctors willing to treat them.
Just 38.7 percent of New Jersey physicians said they accepted new Medicaid patients in 2013 — far below the national average of nearly 69 percent, according to the most recent data available from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. New Jersey is the only state where fewer than half of the doctors accepted new Medicaid patients. California, at 54.2 percent is second-lowest in the nation.
New Jersey also ranked at the bottom in a 2011-12 survey of 8,158 physicians, when 46 percent of primary care doctors said they had planned to take on new Medicaid patients.
Can you guess why?
Obamacare is long on promises, and short on payments.
New Jersey's Medicaid physician reimbursement rates — among the lowest in the country despite the state's high cost of living — have long suppressed doctor participation in the program known as NJ FamilyCare.
Are you surprised by that? Of course you aren't.

Notice how they don't hold themselves to the same standard.
A report by NJ Advance Media in February detailed the problems people on Medicaid have finding a doctor who will see them. Making the situation even more challenging to patients, an investigation of the insurance company lists of participating providers revealed those lists to be inaccurate or out-of-date.

NATO? That's so colonialist man.
So it's really no surprise when The Great And Powerful Obama chooses to snub his NATO counterpart.
President Barack Obama reportedly will not meet with NATO's new secretary general when he is in Washington this week, despite requests from the alliance chief's staff for a get-together.
Bloomberg View reported Tuesday that Jens Stoltenberg's office requested a meeting with Obama in advance of his scheduled visit, but did not receive any response from the White House. Instead, Bloomberg View reported that Stoltenberg had to settle for a last-minute meeting with Defense Secretary Ashton Carter.
Send the new guy! There's golf to be played, and dictators to be coddled.
Perhaps Mr. Stoltenberg should try wallowing in a bathtub full of Fruit Loops. That seems to get Obama's attention…
The report of Obama's snub comes amid Russia's growing willingness to test NATO's military readiness. On Tuesday, NATO jets were scrambled after four Russian military planes were spotted flying over the Baltic Sea with their transponders turned off. Over the weekend, a Danish newspaper published remarks by the Russian ambassador to Denmark in which he hinted that Russian missiles could target Danish warships if Copenhagen joins NATO's missile defense system.
But the most far-reaching example of Russian belligerence came Tuesday, when Britain's Daily Telegraph reported that Moscow was preparing to lease 12 long-range bombers to Argentina in exchange for shipments of beef and wheat. The report comes after a round of rhetoric from Russian officials questioning Britain's claim to the Falkland Islands.
The Russian position echoed remarks made last year by Argentina president Cristina de Kirchner, who said, "The Malvinas [Argentina's name for the archipelago] has always belonged to Argentina, the same way that Crimea also belonged to the Soviet Union until it was given to Ukraine."
A Russian-backed attack on the Falklands is in effect a proxy attack on NATO. You'd think our president would be worried about that.

The United States is taking part in joint military operations with Iran, admitting it is providing aerial surveillance over the current battle for Tikrit.
Troops loyal to the Baghdad government, along with Iran-backed Shia militia and some Sunni tribesmen, have surrounded Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant fighters in Saddam's old palace complex and one other part of the city, but have been unable to make further progress.
The attack has been openly master-minded by an Iranian general, Qassem Suleimani, head of the internationally-focused Al Quds division of the Revolutionary Guard, who has been photographed on the front lines.
An official from the US-led coalition operating air strikes against Isil in Iraq and Syria confirmed to the Reuters news agency that it was now providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance from the air to support the attack.
The United States is also said to be awaiting an imminent formal request for the coalition to join in military operations directly from the air, which it would be likely to grant.

The sight of American jets effectively acting as an air force for Iranian regional interests will further alarm critics at home and in the Arab Sunni world already looking nervously at a possible rapprochement between the two old foes after a possible deal on Tehran's nuclear programme.

Half of the households that received subsidies to help pay health insurance premiums last year under the Affordable Care Act will probably have to repay some of that money to the federal government, according to a new analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Taxpayers generally receive subsidies in advance, with the amount based on their projected household income for the year the insurance policy will be in effect. But they must then reconcile the estimate with their actual income when filing federal taxes. Kaiser estimated that subsidy recipients who underestimated their incomes will owe $794 on average.

Speaking of pain, small business is bearing the brunt of Obamacare's onerous record-keeping requirements.
Complying with the health care law is costing small businesses thousands of dollars that they didn't have to spend before the new regulations went into effect.
Brad Mete estimates his staffing company, Affinity Resources, will spend $100,000 this year on record-keeping and filing documents with the government. He's hired two extra staffers and is spending more on services from its human resources provider.
The Affordable Care Act, which as of next Jan. 1 applies to all companies with 50 or more workers, requires owners to track staffers' hours, absences and how much they spend on health insurance. Many small businesses don't have the human resources departments or computer systems that large companies have, making it harder to handle the paperwork. On average, complying with the law costs small businesses more than $15,000 a year, according to a survey released a year ago by the National Business Association.
"It's a horrible hassle," says Mete, managing partner of the Miami-based company.
That's $15,000 the business can't spend on raises, or expansion, or supplies. It's wasted, a lost opportunity really, dragging our economy down.

A group of Democratic senators is urging the Obama administration to delay a key portion of Obamacare because the results could be "harmful and disruptive."
The letter was signed by Democratic Sens. Claire McCaskill, Heidi Heitkamp, Chris Coons, Joe Manchin, Joe Donnelly and Jon Tester and independent Sen. Angus King, who caucuses with the Democrats.
"We are writing to share our concerns regarding scheduled changes to the definition of the small group market under the Affordable Care Act (ACA)," the senators wrote in the letter, dated March 12.
"Under the law, employers with 51 to 100 employees will be included in the ACA's definition of small group market starting in 2016. Instead of providing stability, we believe expanding the definition will force those historically defined 'large group plans' into the 'small group market,' where they could experience higher premiums, less flexibility, and new barriers to coverage. We therefore encourage you to delay the effective date in the definition change for two years so the market can more smoothly transition to the new rules."
Wait, I thought Obamacare was working swimmingly and all the kinks were worked out! How can these senators say it causes "higher premiums, less flexibility, and new barriers to coverage?"
Because the small group marketplace (aka SHOP) still isn't built, that's why. It's 2 years behind schedule. And I'll know you'll find this hard to believe, but it's actually more of a trainwreck than the original Obamacare web site.
As a guy who's already stuck in the hell that is Obamacare's small business marketplace, let me tell you, it's worse than you can imagine. Choices? Yeah, we have "choices." Between Expensive, Ridiculously Expensive, and Donald Trump Couldn't Afford This Plan. We liked our insurance. We didn't get to keep our insurance. And our employees are not happy. Not one bit.
Just wait until thousands and thousands more hapless schmucks are subjected to the same fate. No wonder these senators are worried, people who are pissed off at Obamacare might not vote for HillBillary. They might even decide to put that Ted Cruz feller into the White House. And then where would progressivism be?
Obamacare, it's so great they have to force you to buy it, and then they have to
keep postponing the really scary parts so they can retain their hold on power.
No wonder it's so popular!

Twitter is already inserting unsolicited, er "promoted" content into our timelines. Now they're gonna eat even more of our monthly mobile bandwidth with autoplay video ads.
Because what we all want is spurts of useless cruft annoying us at inopportune times, right?
It seems like everyone wants to shove autoplaying videos in your face and now Twitter wants to join the ranks of Facebook and Instagram in the fight for your eyeballs.
According to Advertising Age, Twitter is now testing video advertisements that automatically play in your feed. The test applies to promoted video ads and hopes to see if users are more likely to watch videos if they play without a tap.
Autoplay Video Must Die.
Really.
I don't understand the point of companies who set out to annoy their potential customers. And that's what autoplay is, annoying. It breaks my train of thought, sending me scrambling to find the mute or stop button, while cursing your company's miserable existance the entire time.
So listen up Madison Avenue. Write this down, because it's important.
An autoplay video ad for your product makes me hate you with the white-hot passion of 1,000 suns. And it makes me hate your product, too.
I guarantee I will be 100% dead-set against purchasing any product that annoys me with an autoplay video ad.
And I assure you, I'm not alone.
BTW, I also shun websites (Hi ABCnews, I'm looking at you) who autoplay content.

Who the hell died and put Moochelle in charge of our kid's snack time?
Well, as the saying goes, she's Large And In Charge. And if your kid is too fat, she wants to know.
Bureaucrats from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will weigh and measure children in daycare as part of a study mandated by First Lady Michelle Obama's Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act.
The agency published a notice in the Federal Register on Friday proposing data collection on what meals are served in professional and home daycare facilities and how much physical activity children perform.
"Children will be asked to cooperate with study staff who will weigh and measure them for the Standing Height and Weight Form," the notice said.
The study is required by section 223 of Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, which was championed by Mrs. Obama and passed in 2010. The main aspect of the law implemented new standards for school lunches.
A lesser-known requirement of the law is the "Study on Nutrition and Wellness Quality in Childcare Settings (SNAQCS)," which the USDA announced Friday. The public will have 60 days to comment.
The USDA said the data collection is important since more than 30 million kids are in daycare.
Privacy? Yeah, you don't have that.
Choices? You don't have those either.
But, nagging? For sure. Because your kid will eat what Moochelle tells her to eat. And nothing else.
I don't remember seeing this sociopathic control freak on my election ballot. How about you? The fact that she is monitoring our children, and then creating regulations governing what we feed them? Well, that's how I spell FASCISM.
If she wants to micromanage her own kids' meals? Not my concern.
And if people want to voluntarily submit to her tyranny? Well, there's apparently no law against stupidity.

They say the only two things that are certain in life are death and taxes. President Barack Obama wants to add one more: voting.
Obama floated the idea of mandatory voting in the U.S. while speaking to a civic group in Cleveland on Wednesday. Asked about the influence of money in U.S. elections, Obama digressed into the topic of voting rights and said the U.S. should be making it easier for people to vote.
How much easier can it be? You register. You show up. You vote.
Just ask Australia, where citizens have no choice but to vote, the president said.
I did not know that Australia was fascist. You learn something new every day. Remind me not to move there.
"If everybody voted, then it would completely change the political map in this country," Obama said, calling it "potentially transformative." Not only that, Obama said, but universal voting would "counteract money more than anything."
Because we need more uninformed nincompoops deciding the outcome of what'll essentially devolve into a beauty contest.
Freedom means the right to abstain from action, including voting. We don't have a "none of the above" option on our ballots. So boycotting the polls on election day is the next best thing. You'd think a Constitutional Scholar would grasp that concept.
You'd be wrong. The only thing Obama wants to do with the constitution is shred it.
But he's got that "change the political map" thing right. So you gotta give him points for chutzpah. Dragging all those apathetic slackers out of mom's basement and welfare queens out of their nail salons on election day will undoubtedly serve the interests of the Party of Government, ie the Democrats. People who work for a living already vote. It's consumers of government who sit on the sidelines, content to wallow in their government cheese.
They just sort of assume the gravy train will roll on unabated. It must've really burned President Jarrett's shorts when that assumption didn't work out last November.
Not to mention that his "counteract money" line is mendaciously disingenuous coming from a guy who raised and spent more than a billion dollars on each of two presidential campaigns, mainly from untraceable foreign sources.
By the by, who spends the most on our elections? Liberal interest groups funded by the likes of George Soros and Tom Steyer. I'll bet Dear Leader "forgot" to mention that. And of course the public employee unions, who can't spell Republican let alone vote for one.
Mandatory voting? It's an idea so dumb, so antithetical to the Founding Fathers' notions of Liberty and personal responsibility, that only a power-mad narcissistic megalomaniac could embrace it.
Which of course means that Maxine Waters or Bernie Sanders has already
put forth the requisite constitutional amendment requiring it.

First they "suggested" that we go vegan to Save The Planet.
Now Obama's storm troopers are going to regulate our backyard barbecues using the Clean Air Act.
The Environmental Protection Agency has its eyes on pollution from backyard barbecues.
The agency announced that it is funding a University of California project to limit emissions resulting in grease drippings with a special tray to catch them and a "catalytic" filtration system.
The $15,000 project has the "potential for global application," said the school.
The school said that the technology they will study with the EPA grant is intended to reduce air pollution and cut the health hazards to BBQ "pit masters" from propane-fueled cookers.
Charged with keeping America's air, water and soil clean, the EPA has been increasingly looking at homeowners, especially their use of pollution emitting tools like lawn mowers.
Get ready for the denials. If you like your barbecue, you can keep your barbecue.. Like we're gonna fall for that one again, right?
The EPA has already effectively outlawed wood burning stoves.
And we all know what they've done to destroy the coal industry in this country.
So using the same rules to regulate barbecues like mine is the logical next step.
Here's their first proposal:
The school is proposing two fixes to reduce emissions from barbecues. First, they want to cut back on grease flare-ups. The idea: "A slotted and corrugated tray is inserted immediately prior to meat flipping, and removed immediately after. This short contact time prevents the tray from over-heating and volatilizing the collected grease. This collected grease will then drip off into a collection tray and can be used at the pit master's discretion."
But it's the second phase that really shows how nuts these EPA clowns are:
But, total capture isn't "practical," so a filter and fan are proposed for installation. "The secondary air filtration system is composed of a single pipe duct system which contains a specialized metal filter, a metal fan blade, a drive shaft, and an accompanying power system with either a motorized or manual method. This system can be powered by either an exterior electric motor with a chain-driven drive shaft, directly spinning the fan blade, or a hand-powered crank," said the project write-up.
Good freaking grief!
Can you imagine anything so ridiculous? A smokestack and soot scrubbers encasing your backyard grill?
Yeah, that won't be expensive! Or cumbersome. Not to mention, batshit insane.
Typical EPA-approved smokestack scrubber setup. Substitute "your grill" for
"wet scrubber" and you'll get an idea of where they're going with this.
Can you imagine cooking ribs inside that contraption?

Obama's minions aren't very good stewards of the public's money.
In fact,
they're so bad, they set a new record for improper
payments handouts.
Federal agencies made $125 billion in improper payments last year, including tax credits to people who didn't qualify, Medicare payments for treatments that might not be necessary and unemployment benefits for people who were actually working, said a government report released Monday.
The level of improper payments was a new high after several years of declines. In addition to fraud, the errors included overpayments and underpayments, as well payments made without proper documentation.
While the errors were spread among 22 federal agencies, three programs stood out: Medicare, Medicaid and the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Together, the three programs accounted for more than $93 billion in improper payments, according to the report by the Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress.
"This taxpayer money was not spent securing our borders, it was not spent on national defense, and it was not spent contributing to a safety net for those in need," said Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. "This is a problem that is going to get worse year after year if we do not get a handle on it now."
The "problem" is in the eye of the beholder Senator.
And in the eye of President Jarrett, everything is going according to plan.
Because every single one of those $125 billion dollars went toward buying votes for Democrats. What could be more important than that?
Homeland Security?
Puh-lease.
If the Obamabots were interested in Homeland Security they'd close the borders and keep Iran and Hezbollah on the terrorist watch list.
Instead they're focused on one thing. Putting as many Americans as possible on the dole. Consumers of government vote for the party of government. And Democrats are masters at promising Free Stuff.
Just wait, the next two years of "improper payments" will make $125 billion look like a drop in the bucket. They're gonna pull out all the stops to keep the White House firmly under their jackboots, which means levels of wealth transfer that would make Robin Hood blush.
Tax "refunds" to illegal aliens who never paid a dime of taxes in their lives.
Obamacare subsidies to anybody with a pulse. And to the recently departed, especially if Social Security "forgot" to count them as dead.
College loan "forgiveness."
More mortgage writedown shenanigans from the FHA too.
No grant is too small. No boondoggle too shameful. Federal largess will flow where votes are needed most, while their propagandists in the press fan the flames of racial and class discord. It's the Progressives' Battle Of The Bulge, their last-ditch effort to cement socialism as the successor to the great American republic.
And when we really do run out of other people's money? Hey, that's Hillary's
problem.

It is a tenet of the Catholic faith that homosexuality is instrinsically disordered.
It is also a tenet of the Catholic faith that same-sex "marriage" is a mirage.
Alas, at Immaculata High School in Somerville, New Jersey, you can be Catholic and believe these truths, but you can't post them on Facebook. Or mention them in a classroom.
Patricia Jannuzzi, the Immaculata High School teacher who was forced to remove her Facebook page by the school after making anti-gay posts, has been put on administrative leave.
The school notified alumni, parents and students in a letter today.
"This episode has reflected not only on this teacher but, by extension, on Immaculata High School," the letter states. "We regret deeply any hurt this has caused to any individuals and the negative light in which it has cast our school."
Jannuzzi, a theology teacher with Immaculata for 33 years, was forced to de-activate her Facebook page after an online petition -- which now has more than 900 signatures -- called attention to her posts.
Patricia Jannuzzi was sacked for affirming Catholic doctrine. Her catholic (yes, small c) employer caved to the homofascists. Note their characterization of her statements — "anti-gay" — instead of what they really are, Catholic teaching.
Why? Because noted theologian Susan Sarandon objected! Oh, and some homosexual bozo who had a bit part in a Real Housewives episode got his knickers in a twist too. The part where his tweet libels Rick Santorum? Yeah, that's tolerance! dontcha know.
Because only Catholics are haters. Homosexuals are the epitome of reason and understanding. Their precious feelings must be assuaged, always.
Or they'll call you names.
Stacy McCain calls out the hypocritical dichotomy.
While I am not Catholic, I am sufficiently acquainted with their doctrines on marriage and the family to conclude that Ms. Januzzi said nothing in her rant with which the Pope would disagree. And having spent the past several months researching radical feminism, I can say with absolute certainty that the "agenda" is exactly what Ms. Januzzi says it is. But the 21st-Century Thought Police can't let the truth be spoken.
Let me quote more of Ms. Januzzi's post. She was reacting emotionally to a story ("Crass: Gay Activist Tweets THIS To Ben Carson Following CNN Interview") that she linked on her Facebook page, and her point was not very clearly made. She said gay activists, after using the "born that way" argument to gain status under the 14th Amendment "equal protection" clause, will then "argue everyone should be able to choose" homosexuality. Anyone familiar with feminist theory knows that radical lesbians have never accepted the "born that way" argument, instead advocating lesbianism as a "challenge to male supremacy and its basic institution of heterosexuality," to quote Professor Sheila Jeffreys. This feminist perspective was celebrated in a 1973 song by Alix Dobkin, "Every Woman Can Be a Lesbian."
The radical "choice" view of sexuality advocated by lesbian feminists is seldom heard from gay males, who usually describe their homosexual desires as an uncontrollable urge. However, one finds across the spectrum of the LGBT rainbow a unanimous consensus on what we might call the Compulsory Approval Doctrine:
No one can ever be permitted to express a personal aversion or moral objection to homosexual behavior.
Disapproval is synonymous with "hate," according to gay activists, and the cultural consequence of the Compulsory Approval Doctrine is to stigmatize heterosexuality as an expression of prejudice. Many gay people have convinced themselves that the "straight" person's rejection of homosexual behavior is implicit proof of homophobia — an irrational fear — so that all heterosexuals are basically viewed as ignorant bigots afflicted with neurotic sexual repression. And if you dare cite religious injunctions against homosexuality, you thereby prove that you are certainly a hater. Quod erat demonstrandum.
Because, apparently, disapproval of homosexual urges is tantamount to imposing a Death Sentence. I'm told that kids who believe they are gay are prone to commit suicide if they aren't immediately celebrated with parades, balloons, confetti, and abject deference to the Inherent Moral Authority of their newfound sexual deviancy. Their feelings trump everything. Including reason.
Well, Bollocks!
Look: I'm old enough to remember when a boy could be suspended from public school if his hair was long enough to touch his shirt collar in back. I remember when a girl could get kicked off the cheerleading squad if she engaged in PDA (public display of affection) by holding hands with her boyfriend. There was a time — and not really that long ago, either — when young people could not demand approval from their elders, and in fact teenagers were constantly subjected to lectures of adult disapproval for their adolescent wildness. Yet we did not commit suicide, nor did we organize petitions to get our teachers fired because they disapproved of us, inter alia, smoking dope and listening to Led Zeppelin.
Our parents and teachers told us we were hellbound heathens and, once we grew up and looked back on our misspent youth, most of us agreed they were right. God forbid any of my kids should ever go wild like I went wild in the '70s. America was still a free country back then, and adults weren't expected to tiptoe around lest they bruise the fragile self-esteem of a Special Snowflake. Back then, totalitarianism was a threat posed by the Soviet Union. Now the totalitarians are here among us, organizing to suppress dissent, punishing expression of opinions contrary to those of the progressive elite.
Indeed.
The totalitarian Gay Mafia has punished Patricia Jannuzzi.
But, I suspect they aren't done with her yet.
It's not sufficient for her to lose her current job. She has to become unemployable. Her livelihood must be defenestrated. It's the Godfather paradigm: make an example of one, and the rest will fall in line.

The comments at the original news article sadden me. The hatred and vitriol directed at Patricia Jannuzzi, and at Catholics in general, is staggering.
But it's par for the course in Homosexualville, where the least tolerant and most judgmental people you'll ever meet conspire to stamp out any vestiges of disagreement with their chosen lifestyle. They constantly seek affirmation of their debauchery, even as their consciences nag them from behind the brick wall they've erected to compartmentalize their sins. Because even the tiniest spark of righteousness shakes the very foundation of their licentiousness. Such is the fragility of their zeitgeist, censure is anathema.
Shame on Immaculata High School for abandoning Catholic doctrine, and for throwing one of their own into the lion's den.
There are Christians in Iraq and Africa who refuse to renounce their faith even as they face certain death. Yet the administration at Immaculata cowers in fear at the mere thought of "anti-gay" publicity, as if their eternal souls would be tarnished by the approbrium of fornicating sodomites.
Shame on them, I say again. Now is not the time to go weak.

Hillary Clinton is not alone among Democrats. In Jersey City, NJ, everybody uses a private email account. The government servers are lonely, and empty.
As Hillary Clinton faces scrutiny over her use of a private email account to handle government business, some local public officials are defending their own use of private email accounts while on the job.
The officials -- including Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and former Gov. Jim McGreevey, who runs Jersey City's prisoner reentry program -- offered a variety of reasons for why they use private email accounts, including age.
"I'm going to be 58 years old and am fortunate I know how to use one email account," McGreevey said in a statement from the city spokeswoman.
Bullshit.
I'm 57 years old.
I can manage 5 different email accounts.
And yes, they're all on my BlackBerry.

Other officials who use private email accounts include Bob Sommer, who last week became a volunteer Fulop adviser after nearly two years on the city payroll using his Gmail account almost exclusively; Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill, who switches between her city and personal Gmail accounts; Jersey City Councilwoman Candice Osborne; Hudson County spokesman James Kennelly, who uses personal and county accounts; Freeholder Bill O'Dea, who uses Yahoo; and Bayonne spokesman Joe Ryan, who uses Hotmail. Fulop switches between his Gmail and city accounts.
What are they hiding?
Don't count on finding out.

I'm really pissed off.
I have to comply with every arcane requirement of Sarbanes / Oxley, including email retention and archiving. But, apparently, Hillary Clinton doesn't.
In what universe is that right?

What amazes me is the fact that the Palace Guard media, who are 110% in the tank for 0bama, are out in front of these email scandals. That can mean only one thing. They're hoping Elizabeth "Fauxcahontas" Warren takes Hillary's place. And, closer to home, "the other Steve" (Sweeney) lands in Drumthwacket.
Alas, the silent majority might, and I emphasize might, this one time wake up and smell the bullshit. Because the stench is overpowering.

The Grand Poobahs of New Jersey's state supreme court fancy themselves as agents of Social Justice — separation of powers be damned! — and today they once again have deigned to promulgate legislation from the bench, overriding both the governor and our state legislature in the process.
Because They Are The Law.
This time it's their old bugaboo "Affordable Housing." Otherwise known as "Every Town Gets A Slum." The fomenters of class envy object to the idea that some towns have nicer houses than other towns. So they sued the "rich" towns, arguing that every person is entitled to live wherever he or she wants, regardless of their income or ability to pay for said residence. Because hey, if a bunch of folks worked hard all their lives and bought fancy houses in Short Hills or Alpine or Rumson, it's not fair that poor people aren't given similar houses merely because they want them too.
A few lawfare iterations ago the court decreed that the state legislature must create an agency, the Council On Affordable Housing, tasked with devising regulations which would force every town to construct its "fair share" of low-income housing. Towns naturally fought this at every turn, and they gained an ally in Governor Chris Christie. He effectively disbanded COAH, which angered the Social Justice Warriors, and they went back to court.
Today the SJWs found favor with our state supreme court, who hath decreed that they are now COAH. Henceforth, the court will issue Affordable Housing regulations, while Chris Christie and the peoples' elected representatives can go to Hell.
The state Supreme Court today put judges in charge of regulating affordable housing in New Jersey after Gov. Chris Christie's administration repeatedly failed to obey an order for the state to establish new guidelines.
New Jersey's highest court voted 6-0 to task trial courts with deciding on a case-by-case basis how many homes should make available to low- and moderate-income residents in towns across the state.
Did you catch the hubris there? "… after Gov. Chris Christie's administration repeatedly failed to obey an order …". An order! They ordered the governor to bend to their will. And he said "no." Because in a constitutional republic, a governor is equal to the judiciary.
Well golly folks, we can't have that! The judiciary must reign supreme! They don't call themselves the supreme court for nothing! They. Will. Be. Obeyed.
And so, instead of expecting people to work hard to get ahead, our betters in the judiciary will tell those of us who busted our butts, "sorry guys, but everybody is entitled to the same thing you have." And of course, they'll get it for "free." I'll let you guess who pays for that.

"Affordable Housing" is the epitome of communist agitprop. When my grandfather came here from Poland he lived in a cold-water flat Down Neck with a dozen other guys. They all worked. They didn't complain. They saved their pennies. They rode the bus. Then one day my grandfather bought himself a little house in North Arlington. Nothing fancy, but it was his. He married. Sired 8 kids. Raised 'em right. Taught 'em to work hard. And that ethic was bred into me, my siblings, and all my cousins.
No one in my family ever expected the government to hand him a free house.
The very concept, to coin a phrase, doesn't compute. In fact, it's anathema to everything we grew up believing in.
But wait, the argument goes, people need to live near their jobs!
Really?
Tell that to the guy who walks 21 miles to work. Each way. Every day.
Oh, right, you can't. Because the entitlement mentality forced him to go into hiding.
Think about that.
There are people, Obama voters all I'm sure, who would take from this man what he worked for. They deserve it. Or something.
Equality of Outcome is their birthright dontcha know.
Except that one day, and this is something the panjandrums of our "supreme"

In [the] letter, she explained that new child nutrition regulations were implemented as part of her "Lets Move!" initiative started in 2010 to reduce childhood obesity. The new regulations took effect in 2012 with the goal of including more whole grains, vegetables and fruits in school meals while reducing fat and sodium.
She explained that she wants students nationwide to have access to healthy food in their daily lunch meals. She also acknowledged that adjusting to new things can be difficult and thanked Trip for his feedback.
Notice how she didn't take him up on the lunch offer. She's not gonna eat that shit. Her kids don't eat that shit either. They eat gourmet lunches, because the Obama's are better than you Trip.
Trip's mom, Katie, said he "was so proud and excited that [Obama] took the time to write him back" and "now he knows the reasons for the change." Whether he understands the reasons or not, Trip still wants his old tacos and pizza back.
It doesn't matter what you want Trip.
It only matters that you do what's good for the collective.
So be a good little automaton and do as they say.
And while you're at it, you'd better knock off that whole thinking for yourself stuff too young man.
Your name is now on a list. You'll be watched. No more agitating for what you think is right. The government will tell you what's "right." They're smarter than you. More important too. Do as you're told and there won't be any trouble.

I'm sure the timing of this announcement is purely coincidental.
According to an exclusive report published first by CNN, Democrat Senator Bob Menendez will be indicted by the Department of Justice on federal corruption charges.
The Justice Department is preparing to bring criminal corruption charges against New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, alleging he used his Senate office to push the business interests of a Democratic donor and friend in exchange for gifts.
People briefed on the case say Attorney General Eric Holder has signed off on prosecutors' request to proceed with charges, CNN has learned exclusively. An announcement could come within weeks. Prosecutors are under pressure in part because of the statute of limitation on some of the allegations.
The government's case centers on Menendez's relationship with Salomon Melgen, a Florida ophthalmologist who the senator has called a friend and political supporter. Melgen and his family have been generous donors to the senator and various committees the senator is associated with.
I am no fan of Bob Menendez. But this thing stinks. He's been vocal and persuasive in his opposition to Dear Leader's policies on Cuba and Iran. And this "investigation" has been percolating for six years.
So why now?
"Will no one rid me of this turbulent senator?", cried President Valerie Jarrett. And lo, Eric Holder unleashed the hounds.
I got a buck that says if Bob pipes down and acts like a good boy the whole thing will go away. That's how the Obama White House operates. They punish their enemies, and they reward their friends.
Bob Menendez didn't get with their program. So now he's gonna get an orange
jumpsuit.

Sorry Net Neutrality knuckleheads, don't say we didn't warn you. But now it's too late to be complaining about how when the jackbooted thugs of the FCC take aim at the internet they're gonna squash your hopes and dreams too.
Exhibit A: Netflix! They got what they wanted, except they've decided they didn't really want what they got.
Netflix CFO David Wells, in comments at an industry conference, said the company's preference was that broadband Internet service should not be regulated by the U.S. government as a telecommunications utility — appearing to backtrack on Netflix's previous stance on the issue, although the company later said that its position remained unchanged.
Last year, Netflix urged the FCC to reclassify broadband as a telecom service, under Title II of the Communications Act. In a July 2014 filing, Netflix said that "Title II provides [the FCC with] a solid basis to adopt prohibitions on blocking and unreasonable discrimination by ISPs. Opposition to Title II is largely political, not legal."
But Wells said that the FCC's adoption of Title II regulations covering broadband was not, in fact, Netflix's preferred outcome. On Wednesday, Wells — speaking at the 2015 Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in San Francisco — said that, while the streaming-video company wanted to see "strong" net neutrality measures to ensure content providers would be protected against ISPs charging arbitrary interconnection fees, Netflix ultimately wanted the situation resolved without government intervention.
"Were we pleased it pushed to Title II? Probably not," Wells said at the conference. "We were hoping there might be a non-regulated solution."
Translation? We didn't expect the FCC to regulate us, just all those other guys.
Yeah, tough noogies numbnuts. The Title II ship has sailed, thanks in no small part to you and your company's mendacity. You asked for it, you got it. Now live with the consequences.
Speaking of "consequences," here's Exhibit B: 5G wireless services were specifically designed to prioritize different classes of data. Now, of course, such a rollout runs smack-dab into the Net Neutrality mavens' silly "no fast lanes" mantra.
Net neutrality and 5G may be on a collision course as the mobile industry tries to prepare for a wide range of mobile applications with differing needs.
The net neutrality rules passed by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission last week have raised some eyebrows at Mobile World Congress this week. The full text of the rules isn't public yet, but mobile movers and shakers are having their say. The latest questions involve 5G, the next-generation standard that everyone here is trying to plan for.
The most common thing they think 5G will have to do is to serve a lot of different purposes. Regulators' attempts to ban "fast lanes" and other special treatment might make that impossible, people who've been thinking about 5G said Wednesday.
Industrial sensors, self-driving cars and other emerging uses of the Internet have needs that can't be met by a general-purpose network, Ericsson Group CTO Ulf Ewaldsson said during a panel discussion. That's driving a global discussion on a so-called "industrial Internet" alongside the regular Internet that's grown up around the Web and other consumer activities, he said.
Regulatory efforts like the FCC's rules don't see a distinction, Ewaldsson said. He didn't slam the agency for this but said the mobile industry needs to do a better job of explaining what it's trying to do. Most importantly, it's not trying to block or throttle people's access to the Internet, he said.
Gee, a law written in 1934 isn't compatible with the technology of 2015. Who'da thunk it! And when it turns out that government is incapable of accommodating nuance, yeah that's not exactly a News Flash either. Except, maybe, to the starry-eyed utopians who put their faith in bureaucracy instead of the free market.
Now there is a federal agency involved, and it has a bunch of power that it didn't before. Good luck to Mr. Ewaldsson. Good luck to Netflix. Good luck to Google. Good luck to the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Good luck to the Progressive Policy Institute. Good luck to the Internet Society. You made your bed. Now lie in it.

This president really does believe he's our king. That we must bow before him. That he can impose his will upon us by fiat. The Constitution? That's so old, who cares about it anymore? Certainly not anyone in his administration!
He's got a pen and a phone, and he's going to use them to unilaterally raise taxes.
President Obama really does think he is a king or an emperor of some type. Now he claims that he is going to use executive orders to raise taxes on us all.
This arrogant prince thinks he can do anything he wants just by his say-so. No act of Congress needed.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is "very interested" in the idea of raising taxes through unilateral executive action.
"The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits middle class Americans," Earnest said in response to a question about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) calling on Obama to raise more than $100 billion in taxes through IRS executive action.
Tyranny. Pure, unadulterated tyranny.
The reason the Constitution requires that all new taxes originate in the House is because its members face reelection every two years, and are thus very responsive to the desires of their constituents and/or are quickly replaced. At least that's the theory. A big hole in that limitation is that there doesn't seem to be any sort of enforcement mechanism available, otherwise ObamaCare!!! — which originated, taxes and all, in the Senate — could never have become law.
Bad as that is, at least the Senate also faces popular pressure, so much so that half of the Democrat Senators who voted to pass ObamaCare!!! have since been removed or exited gracelessly from their jobs.
But the executive? Raising taxes on his own accord? Because the House, most closely representing the will of the people, won't succumb to his will and enact his "preferred option" on its own?
Remember the concept of "no taxation without representation?" Yeah, me neither.
The Founding Fathers declared independence over less. The list of abuses and usurpations imposed by this president is unparalled in history.
And he grows bolder with each passing day.
Consider that just last week he moved to ban AR-15 ammo, the most common bullet sold in the United States.
And yesterday he announced a plan to Federalize every local police department in the country.
The people disarmed. The police answerable only to the tyrant. The media, complicit. The Congress, paralyzed. The military, defanged.
He's preparing for something big. And if We The People allow him to succeed, if we do not stand up, united in opposition to his tyranny, Freedom and Liberty will die. Forever.

The president who bombs everybody vetoed an Israeli first strike against Iran's nuclear weapons facilities. Not only that, he threatened to shoot down IAF planes if they tried.
In a shocking report, a Kuwaiti newspaper is claiming that President Barack Obama once threatened to shoot down Israeli jets if they went through with a plan to target Iranian nuclear sites.
Citing "well-placed sources," Al-Jarida claims that sometime in 2014, the Israeli government made plans to attack Iran when they heard that the United States and Iran were on the cusp of striking a secret nuclear deal behind Israeli's back. The decision was made after Israel learned the terms of the deal were supposedly "a threat to Israel's security."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allegedly came to the decision after four nights of deliberation with commanders, and Israeli jets even managed experimental test flights in Iranian airspace after evading Iranian radars. But when an Israeli official with good ties to the Obama administration revealed the planned airstrikes, Obama allegedly threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets.
No wonder Dear Leader doesn't want Netanyahu to speak before Congress! Suppose the Prime Minister gets up there on Tuesday and confirms this report? Suppose he says, yes, Barack Obama is actively working to ensure that Iran gets The Bomb?
Because, face it, if Obama was in fact helping Iran to develop a nuclear weapon, what exactly would he be doing differently?
Actually there are reports saying exactly that.
The deal that the United States and the P5+1 powers are working towards would enable Iran to produce nuclear weapons only a few years after the signing of the accords, if Iran demonstrates "good behavior" during the years the agreement is in effect, Israel's NRG reported on Monday citing The Associated Press. The report cites an official involved in the talks between the Western powers and Iran who leaked details of the agreement emerging between the two sides.
Does this scare the living shit out of you?
Because I'm freaking out. Iran has told the world exactly what they'll do with an atomic bomb.
Maybe Obama is OK with smoking craters where Haifa and Tel Aviv used to be, but anyone who's sane would be recoiling in horror.

I hope Israel launches that strike. Soon. They know how.
