Obamanomics, it's the shiznit.
The US is on the brink of losing its status as the world's largest economy, and is likely to slip behind China this year, according to the world's leading statistical agencies.
The US has been the global leader since overtaking the UK in 1872.
With the IMF expecting China's economy to have grown 24 per cent between 2011 and 2014 while the US is expected to expand only 7.6 per cent, China is likely to overtake the US this year.
Maybe it's because in Obama's America, 1/5 of American families don't have a breadwinner.
How can anyone not see what is happening to us? America is in the midst of a long-term economic decline, but the mainstream media and most of our politicians seem to think that things are better than ever. They continue to try to convince us that "business as usual" is the right path to take.
Thanks Obama voters. You've succeeded in reducing our global stature, and put 47 million Americans on food stamps to boot.
Ronald Reagan defeated Soviet Communism.
Barack Obama has surrendered to Chinese communism.
I forget. Is that the Hope, or the Change?
Either way, it's an epidemic of Fail.

The Obamabots don't care; their guy won, and all's fair when it leads to a win for their team. The Conservatives care, but we can't impeach America's Great Black Hope, so what's the point of repeatedly wringing our hands over the deaths of 4 brave men, right?
It's a damn shame though. A political hack named Ben Rhodes, loyal only to Barack Obama, ordered Susan Rice to deliberately lie to the American people.
Why? To ensure his boss got re-elected.
This is not hard to understand. It has never been hard to understand. The White House knew how this attack would look on President Obama's foreign policy credentials. It would have looked as if Obama's foreign policy was weak and a failure. In other words, it would have highlighted the truth of the matter and almost certainly, it would have affected his chances of defeating Mitt Romney and of winning another four-year term. His team couldn't have that, so they launched the campaign of lies that were designed to shield their boss from the truth of the matter. It worked long enough for him to pull off a victory, with the help of the media, who has covered his tracks. We now know it was all lies designed to protect President Barack Obama.
What you may not know is just how complicit the media was in all of this.
Ben Rhodes is no ordinary political hack. He has power and influence in Obama's inner circle for one simple reason — his brother David is the head of CBS News. You know, the very same CBS News which fired Sharyl Attkisson for digging too deeply into the truth about Benghazi. Does anyone here really believe the Rhodes brothers didn't coordinate their actions or share information?
It was all about keeping the lid on a major foreign policy failure until after the 2012 election. Candy Crowley helped. As did most of the mainstream media.
There's the Real Scandal. The media isn't a watchdog; they're lapdogs. And
they can no longer pretend otherwise.

Now that we aren't allowed to vote on their budgets any more, the Board of Education can really start spending like drunken sailors.
So bend over and grab your ankles Caldwell, your property taxes will be soaring this year.
The Caldwell-West Caldwell board of education hosted their public meeting for the school budget, offering a 3.75 percent tax hike for the new 2014-2015 school year.
This new tax hike is due to numerous factors but a majority of it is because of contractual obligations, including salaries, pensions and health benefits.
Remember Chris Christie's 2% tax cap? Yeah, there's a ginormous loophole in it.
Superintendent of Caldwell-West Caldwell schools Dr. James Heinegg explained.
"The state allows for "banked" cap, which means, essentially, that you can go above occasionally if your average remains below 2 percent," noted Heinegg. "Over the past 5 years, the district is averaging an annual increase of about 1.05%."
So last year they only pretended to be cutting us a break, knowing full well they could completely hose us any time they want. And there ain't Thing One we can do about it.

Gee, you spend a week in North Carolina and you miss the fun stuff that makes Page One in the Star-Ledger. While I was walking Sophie's dog on the beach in Hatteras, NC, the jaunty journalists still employed by Rich Vezza were pouring over corporate donation records, eagerly seeking checks made out to Republicans.
And they found Wawa, a convenience store chain from PA that is expanding into the New Jersey market, who gave a whopping $21,800 to the GOP.
This cataclysmic event necessitated a blaring headline, Page One Above The Fold in their Sunday edition.
Convenience store politics: Wawa increases donations to NJ politicians
Next time you buy coffee, a breakfast sandwich or fill up with gas at Wawa, there's a good chance your money isn't only going to the convenience store chain.
It could also wind up in the campaign accounts of New Jersey politicians.
Since 2012, the company has dispensed at least $21,800 to candidates seeking state office and political committees in New Jersey, according to a review of campaign records. That's nearly twice as much as in the previous 27 years.
The company gave $10,000 to the Republican State Committee — unofficially controlled by Gov. Chris Christie. Over the next year, it would also max out Christie's gubernatorial campaign, giving $7,200 to his primary and general election accounts combined.
By contrast, Wawa — whose annual revenue is estimated at $9 billion — made no donations to the Democratic State Committee or Christie's Democratic opponent last year, former state Sen. Barbara Buono.
Stop the presses! A corporation donated to Republicans, while seeking to expand their business. But since they didn't give one thin dime to Babs Buono's doomed gubernatorial quest, it immediately makes them seem shady. Or so we're being led to beleive.
Maybe they read the polls that showed her losing by double digits?
Curiously though, the Ledger's intrepid investigators never tallied up how much money the teachers' union poured into Buono's losing endeavor.
So I Googled it for them.
$7.2 million. The NJEA wrote checks totalling $7.2 million last year, exclusively to Democrats.
The NJEA PAC lists $1,439,772.32 in expenditures and another $353,424.19 in the bank. Of the total, $1.2 million went to legislative candidates or committees.
The report is a fraction of the NJEA's overall spending thus far, with nearly $6 million paid out by its Super PAC, Garden State Forward, much of it to the benefit Buono, the Democratic challenger to Gov. Chris Christie.
The money in the NJEA PAC comes out of voluntary contributions from the union's 200,000 members. It is not derived from dues. The Super PAC, however, is funded from dues.
Apparently political donations form the NJEA are Not News.
So, the next time you pay your school tax, there's a good chance the money isn't going to books, or pencils, or new basketballs. It's going to Union Dues, automatically deducted from every school employee's taxpayer-funded salary, which are then funneled directly into the pockets of Democratic party politicians.
Who, quite coincidentally, always vote to expand the power of unions in New Jersey.
But like I said, that's not news. Because only corporate money in politics
is evil. Or something.

Veterans seeking help from Obama's VA were left to die.
At least 40 U.S. veterans died waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system, many of whom were placed on a secret waiting list.
The secret list was part of an elaborate scheme designed by Veterans Affairs managers in Phoenix who were trying to hide that 1,400 to 1,600 sick veterans were forced to wait months to see a doctor, according to a recently retired top VA doctor and several high-level sources.
Internal e-mails obtained by CNN show that top management at the VA hospital in Arizona knew about the practice and even defended it.
When a veteran comes in seeking an appointment, "they enter information into the computer and do a screen capture hard copy printout. They then do not save what was put into the computer so there's no record that you were ever here,"
The information was gathered on the secret electronic list and then the information that would show when veterans first began waiting for an appointment was actually destroyed.
"That hard copy, if you will, that has the patient demographic information is then taken and placed onto a secret electronic waiting list, and then the data that is on that paper is shredded."
"So the only record that you have ever been there requesting care was on that secret list," he said. "And they wouldn't take you off that secret list until you had an appointment time that was less than 14 days so it would give the appearance that they were improving greatly the waiting times, when in fact they were not."
Gee. Remember how the While House is crowing about their 8 million Obamacare signups?
Any bets on whether or not those numbers were fudged too?
Because you know they've got a "secret list." Of people who've actually paid. And I can guarantee there's way fewer than 8 million names on it.
Which, of course, is why they won't show it to you.
So, who here thinks they don't already have an Obamacare death list too?
If this president is willing to let veterans die anonymously, do you really
believe he'll care whether or not your children get the life-saving medication
they need? Especially if it costs
a dollar more than their death?

It's nice to know our Supreme Court still believes the Constitution is constitutional. Sometimes it's hard to tell if our Founding Fathers will survive the progressive onslaught.
The 14th Amendment guarantees "equal protection" to all. Affirmative action elevates one race above all others; clearly making them "unequal." The citizens of Michigan voted to abolish race-based preferences in college admissions. Liberals went berzerk. Their brand of discrimination postulates that minority applicants are unable to compete on a level playing field.
We fought the Civil War partly because one racial group was deliberately held back regardless of their individual accomplishments.
Affirmative action advances that race at the expense of other, more qualified contenders.
Both policies are equally odious.
Discrimination today is not the answer to past episodes of racism. Equality means judging everyone on the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Regardless of the color of their skin.
What amazes me is that the decision wasn't unanimous.
The Supreme Court has upheld Michigan's affirmative action ban, ruling that the state has the right to determine whether racial preferences can be considered in college admissions.
In a 6-2 ruling on Tuesday, the justices said that a lower federal court was wrong to set aside the change as discriminatory. The Supreme Court ruled that Michigan voters had the right to change their state constitution to bar public colleges and universities from using race as a factor in admissions.
Justices Ginsburg and Sotomayor dissented. Madam Justice Wise Latina opined that minorities would be "oppressed" if they weren't given preferential treatment. Presumably because she believes they can't compete on the merits. I'd like to ask her, are minority college applicants truly less intelligent? Or merely lazier? Either assumption is insulting on its face. Yet affirmative action cannot survive without making them.
Fortunately the actual scholars on the Court determined that the word "equal"
really is color blind.

Money in politics is bad, unless it's used to help Democrats.
What you won't hear about in mainstream media is how Billionaire Tom Steyer drove the decision [to again delay Keystone XL] by promising to spend $100 million to help Democrats in the midterm election who help defeat the project:
Good news on Good Friday: the comment period for #KeystoneXL has been extended. Now @StateDept can address inherent flaws in its past work.
— Tom Steyer (@TomSteyer) April 18, 2014
Depending on how you view money in politics, this is either a bribe or The Chicago Way.
With the decision pushed back probably past the election, this allows the Democrats to be for or against the decision depending on their election chances and how badly they need Steyer's support. Given that a majority of Americans want the project to go through, this is good news for vulnerable Democrats.
Pretend you're for it, while secretly being against it. Or, vice versa. But pledge undying fealty to Tom Steyer, and $100 million dollars can be yours for the asking.
Harry Reid was unavailable for comment, being too busy demagoging the Koch Brothers and all.
Meanwhile, American jobs suffer, and whatever economic impact the project might have had on Russia is ignored for the sake of Obama's political gain.
Everything Obama does is for political gain. Any resemblance between politics
and something which helps Americans is purely coincidental. And definitely
unintentional.

A new Fox News poll shows Hillary Clinton's favorability numbers dropping to their lowest point in six years. Down, to merely half of America.
The Fox News poll, from Democratic pollster Anderson Robbins Research and GOP pollster Shaw & Company, shows Clinton's favorable rating dropping to 49 percent, compared to 45 percent unfavorable.
This for a woman with no actual accomplishments.
How is this possible, I ask myself. Then I realize, America is a nation of takers.
Buried deep on the website of the U.S. Census Bureau is a number every American citizen, and especially those entrusted with public office, should know. It is 86,429,000.
That is the number of Americans who in 2012 got up every morning and went to work — in the private sector — and did it week after week after week.
Our reward? Ungrateful moochers.
All told, including both the welfare recipients and the non-welfare beneficiaries, there were 151,014,000 who "received benefits from one or more programs" in the fourth quarter of 2011. Subtract the 3,212,000 veterans, who served their country in the most profound way possible, and that leaves 147,802,000 non-veteran benefit takers.
We're outnumbered, 1.7 to 1.
There's your real "income inequality."
86 million makers. 148 million takers.
"A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the
support of Paul."
— George Bernard Shaw
And thus you have the inevitable presidency of Hillary Rodham Clinton, with 63% of the vote. One inept poseur succeeds another.
What difference at this point does it make?

Kiss the parking spaces along Bloomfield Avenue goodbye.
Get ready for traffic gridlock, and watch formerly four-lane roads get reduced to two, as "bike lanes" and "pedestrian corridors" are prioritized over cars.
Wonder in amazement as zoning board decisions are vetoed by a nameless, faceless, unaccountable bureaucrat deep in the bowels of a United Nations NGO, whose only loyalty is to George Soros and Agenda 21.
No, this isn't some conspiracy theory.
It's the reality behind the progressive-nirvana "Complete Streets" program, which was just adopted by our Mayor and Council.
But don't take it from me, take it from their own website, where they tell us straight-away what the goals are.
The traditional performance measure for transportation planning has been vehicular Level of Service (LOS) — a measure of automobile congestion. Complete Streets planning requires taking a broader look at how the system is serving all users. Communities with Complete Streets policies can measure success through a number of ways: the miles of on-street bicycle routes created; new linear feet of pedestrian accommodation; changes in the number of people using public transportation, bicycling, or walking (mode shift); number of new street trees; and/or the creation or adoption of a new multi-modal Level of Service standard that better measures the quality of travel experience.
That's urban-planner gobbledygook for "no cars allowed." It's an exercise in raw power by the do-gooders among us, foisting their utopian vision of how we ought to live upon an unsuspecting populace. Our streets won't be "complete" until cars are eliminated entirely.
But of course they don't tell you about that part up front. It's all rainbows and unicorns until one day you wake up and discover the truth for yourself, like they did in Alexandria, VA.
All this is to be done on the model of the frog in the boiling pot, with the temperature raised by small degrees until the frog is quite cooked. Step 1 is to convince City Hall to paint "sharrows" on a road, indicating that the road is to be shared with cyclists. Only the road is already shared with cyclists, so what's the point? Step 2 occurs when the road is repaved by the City. At that point, the sharrows are replaced by dedicated bike lanes. Where the street is too narrow for both on-street parking and bike lanes, the parking spaces disappear.
Step 2 is usually opposed by businesses and homeowners. For some reason, shopkeepers don't think their custom will increase if they remove customer parking. Homeowners want to invite their friends over for coffee, set up play dates for their children, and accommodate the carpooling arrangements that transport them to and from school. They want to be able to say "yes" when the roofer, plumber, or electrician asks if there is parking near the house. That's when the "Bike Wars" start, and that's also when Step 3 is invoked. Parking is merely the symptom and cars the disease, and the goal is to cure the disease.
We're talking about cyclists who commute to work or school, and they're only one percent of American adults. Like the Occupy Wall Street people, they want to occupy our streets, except this time it's the one percent who claim the mantle of social justice.
Ever hear of "guerrilla tactics"? One "PM" suggests on a bicyclist blog what's to be done if they don't get their way:
Any bicyclist using King Street to go uphill could always just make a point to ride slowly and smack in the middle of the lane, especially at peak times*. Then, frustrated motorist [sic]will complain to the City that they want the bikes "out of their way" and the motorists and bicyclists will be fighting the neighbors together. Seems like a win.
A number of King Street residents have experienced this, me included. I can tell you that it's frightening on a dark night to have a cyclist dressed all in black lycra and helmet, only a small tail light visible, suddenly pull out in front of your car to pull off this stunt. I'm not enamored of these guys, but I don't want to hurt them either.
Substitute "Bloomfield Avenue" for "King Street." And get ready for even more urban civil disobedience in the form of "Critical Mass." Here's what they do. A line of bicycle activists organizes themselves into a complete traffic-blocking phalanx, pedaling along in slow-motion at 5 PM on a Friday afternoon. It's not their fault you're stuck behind them, waiting to see your wife and kids.
Nope, it's your fault. Or more importantly, your way of life's fault.
You don't live "sustainably." You're the enemy. And UN Agenda 21 aka "Smart Growth" is the cure.
Put simply, Smart Growth is a breathtaking usurpation of private property rights. In New Jersey it's come to mean "upzoning" of single-family lots to permit construction of hundreds or possibly thousands of inclusive housing units, including apartments and condominiums.
Remember COAH? Mount Laurel? Yeah, they're the bellwether of Smart Growth, putting a slum in every town.
And in case you haven't guessed by now, Smart Growth and Complete Streets are two sides of the same coin.
You guys just made it the law in Caldwell that 5 percent of any public project, and 20% of private development, must be dedicated to Complete Streets. So that nice new store proposed by the Corner Butcher Block? It just became 20% more expensive. And whoever buys the old Rite-Aid building could be on the hook for a sidewalk boondoggle, like resurrection of "the loser bench," and all the dead cigarette butts that go with it.
Oh, and Mayor Dassing? I saved the best for last. Smart Growth means no more Republicans.
"Smart growth is not science; it is political dogma combined with an insidious dose of social engineering. Smart growth is a wedding wherein zoning code is married with government-sponsored housing initiatives to accomplish government's goal of social re-engineering. It urbanizes rural towns with high-density development, and gerrymanders population centers through the use of housing initiatives that enable people with weak patterns of personal financial responsibility to acquire homes in higher-income areas. This has the effect of shifting the voting patterns of municipalities from Right to Left."
Because we don't have enough socialists in this town already, right?

It goes to somebody else. Somebody who's living large on the dole. In fact, a whole lot of "somebodies."
A whopping 69 cents of every tax dollar gets sent right back out as wealth redistribution.
Major entitlements (Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security) gobbled up 49 percent, while more federal benefits took another 20 percent. These additional "income security" benefits include federal employee retirement and disability, unemployment benefits, and welfare programs such as food and housing assistance.
Not included yet? Obamacare subsidies. They won't be counted until next year, so get ready to bend over and grab your ankles.
But wait, it gets worse.
We're on track for all our tax money to go to Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid (including the Children's Health Insurance Program and Obamacare), and interest on the debt. Don't forget the debt. Your 2013 tax dollars covered only 80 cents of every dollar spent by the federal government. The other 20 cents were borrowed from younger generations.
BOHICA.
You know what would be nice?
If at least one of the Obamabot grifters I'm supporting sent me a thank-you note for tax day (or as I like to call it, National Wealth Redistribution Day). Maybe the folks at Hallmark can come up with an appropriate card.

Because nothing says "Jesus Is Risen" quite like heresy.
President Obama tapped the first openly gay Episcopal Bishop to lead the closing Easter Prayer, Monday.
You remember Gene Robinson. He left his wife and children to fornicate with another man. Then the Episcopalians made him a Bishop. Which is one more reason why they're still unreconciled with Rome.
Blasphemy. It's only cool when Catholics are being mocked.
Robinson, the first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church, tweeted about the honor, ironically taking the Lord's name in vain in the process
"POTUS 'preaches' at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!" he tweeted with a picture.
Irony is Obama's Muslim buddies stoning homosexuals like Robinson to death.
It's high time Catholics took a page out of their playbook. Maybe then we'll get some respect.
And we'd better bring back the Holy Inquisition. Before it's too late.

Reading The American Spectator's recap of ABC's "9 Things You Might Not Know About HHS Nominee Sylvia Burwell," one thing really jumped out at me.
Did you know she single-handedly closed access to our national parks, so Obama could spitefully make last year's government shutdown as "painful" as possible?
The ABC story does tell us that Burwell is "really smart." It should have said, "willing to do anything the boss asks." NBC News, in a story that somehow slipped past the editors, reports the following: "A single person shut down the entire U.S. government.… Not a congressman, but an unelected woman named Sylvia Burwell who … sent the email that initiated the process that has closed national parks." This eventually led to the refusal by park rangers to allow WWII veterans into their own memorial, a travesty that clearly demonstrated how the White House was deliberately inflicting as much pain as possible on the public in order to gain political points.
She's Dear Leader's hatchet woman at OMB.
So it's not hard to envision a day at the helm of HHS when she decides to show Republicans who's boss again, this time by closing hospitals, say until they give up on trying to repeal Obamacare.
Given how she treated veterans last year, and knowing how Obama feels about our military, she'll undoubtedly start with Veterans' hospitals first.
Using the government to punish his "enemies" is what Obama does. And Sylvia
Burwell is a faithful Obamabot, well-versed in inflicting pain on America.
From that perspective, she's the perfect choice to lead HHS as Obamacare
is firmly and completely shoved up our ass.

Barack Obama's EPA is busy shuttering America's coal-fired power plants. Because, Globull Warming.
Meanwhile, demand for electricity continues to surge.
And, contrary to what the Obamabots might have you believe, magic unicorns aren't picking up the slack.
Facing the Obama administration's so-called "war on coal," some utility officials are warning that fewer coal-fired power plants could leave the U.S. power system vulnerable to blackouts in the near future.
The officials warn that intense summer heat or extreme winter cold could soon be too much for the system to handle.
"I worry about the potential of brownouts and blackouts if we're ... actually depending on this generation that's going to be retired," Nick Akins, from American Electric Power, told Fox News in an interview.
Pro-coal advocates say the administration's focus on its environmental agenda challenges the reliability of the nation's power grid.
"Regulation from five years ago is closing about 20 percent of the coal plants. Regulations being proposed now could close an additional 20 percent of coal plants. And that creates huge stresses -- we're just not ready for anything like that in this country," Mike Duncan, from the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity, told Fox News.
Considering this past winter's severe cold and "Polar Vortex," Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski noted at a Senate hearing this week that the system was at its limits."Eight-nine percent of the coal electricity capacity that is due to go offline was utilized as that backup to meet the demand this winter," Murkowski said.
And coal country Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, of West Virginia, clearly has his concerns.
"Add the fact that EPA is proposing new source performance standard, what this is going to do will effectively ban the construction of any new coal plants," Manchin said. "How do we keep the lights on so people's lives will not be in danger?"
Barack Obama doesn't care about keeping the lights on.
He's not particularly concerned if your life is in danger either.
All he cares about is making energy prices "skyrocket." And, bankrupting the coal industry.
The fact that there are Real Consequences to his policies? That Americans will suffer while he golfs and his wife vacations in Tahiti?
Not on his radar.
We can freeze in the dark.
The econuts must be mollified. And our children must be brainwashed into believing they're sacrificing for a Noble Cause. But Obama's kids won't ever feel the cold. Only yours, and mine.

I just love it when the school tries to brainwash my kid. Nuance ain't their forte. Fossil fuels are bad! Alternative energy is the future! Save the planet!
Or so my daughter's science book would have us believe.
She came home with an index card last night. On it she was supposed to write and then decorate a "slogan" urging people to curtail their use of fossil fuels.
Smart-ass that I am, I immediately channeled my friend Jeff.
In the Future, everybody gets to freeze in the dark.
"Dad!" She whinced. "We're worried about pollution."
Oh, then how 'bout this?
Recycle this index card, or THE PLANET WILL DIE!
"No, Dad, it has to mention fossil fuels or alternative energy. Besides, I'll get in trouble if I write that," although she was giggling by now.
Wait, did someone say "alternative energy?" OK then!
Put solar cells on your roof, because who needs lights at night?
That one really cracked her up. "It says that in my book. Look ..."
And sure enough, in her book it says one "drawback" of solar energy is that it doesn't work without sunlight.
So we're back to freezing in the dark again.
"What about wind energy?"
Have you ever heard how much noise a windmill makes?
Put a windmill in your back yard, because who needs sleep?
We won't even bother with how many minced birds they make every day.
A look of horror came over her face. "Windmills kill birds?"
Yup.
Say, what if we put a positive spin on something that's actually practical, like nuclear energy?
"No Dad! Nuclear waste is toxic! It lasts forever!"
Oh boy.
I showed her some research on the new fourth-generation Thorium molten salt reactors. But I think it was a little too advanced for sixth grade. Still, the point took, not all nuclear energy is bad, and it's a heckuva lot cleaner than those evil fossil fuels her teacher wants to ban.
(Besides, we have a perfectly good place all ready to store our nuclear waste, except Dingy Harry Reid won't let us put it there.)
"What if I wrote about electric cars?"
Prius, the coal-powered smug-mobile!
"Coal?"
We burn coal to make electricity, along with oil and natural gas. But the president is closing all the coal mines and shutting down the power plants that burn coal. Presumably because he wants children in West Virginia to starve. Maybe you could write that!
"Children work in the coal mines?"
No, their fathers do. When their dad loses his job, the kids don't eat.
"Oh. I can't say that."
It was getting late. She decided to just regurgitate one of the Official Talking Points from her book.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
Or, I might add, the planet will die.

Purely coincidentally, I'm sure.
Salomon Melgen is one helluva ophthalmologist. He's gotta be, last year he saw 894 patients a total of 94,000 times, and collected $20.8 million tax dollars for his efforts.
That's right, the magical Dr. Melgen claims he performed 94,000 surgical procedures. In one year. More than 60 times the number of procedures claimed by his average peer.
He's not just an "average" doctor, is he? He's SuperDoctor!
Let's do a little math. If the indefatigable Dr. Melgen worked 7 days a week without a vacation that means he saw 258 patients a day. Suppose he put in 14 hour days, week after week, for the whole year. That works out to one patient every three minutes. Without stopping to eat or pee.
Ah but, Melgen doesn't work that hard. Because he has plenty of time to fly his buddy the Senator from New Jersey down to his villa in the Dominican Republic. And to throw lavish parties on the senator's behalf too.
In return, Bob Menendez would have us believe that Dr. Melgen isn't scamming the government.
Gimme a break Bob.

It's the product you're forced to buy, except now you're no longer allowed to buy it, at any price, until the next open enrollment period. Even if you really, really, really need it.
The Obamacare insurance exchange window slammed shut on March 31st, and it won't open again until January 1, 2015. So, if you're uninsured, you're out of luck.
Oops.
There is yet another ObamaCare surprise waiting for consumers: from now until the next open enrollment at the end of this year, most people will simply not be able to buy any health insurance at all, even outside the exchanges.
"It's all closed down. You cannot buy a policy that is a qualified policy for the purpose of the ACA (the Affordable Care Act) until next year on January 1," says John DiVito, president of Flexbenefit which has 2,500 brokers.
John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas adds, "People are not going to be able to buy individual and family policies, and that's part of ObamaCare. And what makes it so surprising is the whole point of ObamaCare was to encourage people to get insurance, and now the market has been completely closed down for the next seven months."
No Mr. Goodman. "The whole point of Obamacare" is to destroy the private health insurance market in the United States.
And gee whiz, it succeeded.
I hope all you Obamabot assholes are happy.

You already know this but, if you liked your plan, you couldn't keep your plan.
And of course, if you liked your doctor, you couldn't keep your doctor.
Now, in a Superfecta of Obamacare #fail, if you were expecting to save $2,500 per year, well, the joke's on you.
Do you remember when Barack Obama told you the average family would save $2,500 a year under Obamacare?
Yeah, that was a lie, too.
Everything Obama says is a lie. Including "and" and "the."
The United States has seen the sharpest increase in health insurance premiums in the last year than possibly ever, a new survey has found, and analysts have concluded the "increases are largely due to changes under the Affordable Care Act."
According to Forbes Magazine, a quarterly survey by investment bank Morgan Stanley of 148 brokers who sell insurance showed that premiums accelerated in the last quarter more than of any of the 12 prior quarterly periods, a peak which has coincided with the run-up to the Obamacare deadline.
The average premium increases for insurance renewals in the most recent quarter were over 11 percent in the small group market and 12 percent in the individual market where consumers buy coverage directly from health plans. By comparison, the September survey showed that increases in the small group market averaged 3 percent, and 2 percent in the individual market.
In some states, increases have been 10 to 50 times those averages, according to Forbes. For the individual insurance market, premiums have increased an average of 100 percent in Delaware, 90 percent in New Hampshire, 54 percent in Indiana, 53 percent in California, 45 percent in Connecticut, and 37 percent in Florida.
For the small group market, Washington had an average increase of 588 percent, followed by Pennsylvania at 66 percent, California at 37 percent, and Indiana at 34 percent.
The data shows that "rate hikes have accelerated as Obamacare's regulations have started to get implemented," wrote Scott Gottlieb, a Forbes contributor who analyzes policy, regulation and public health.
Yippee kai ay.
Want more bad news? That's just the premiums. Add in the ballooning deductibles and shrunken provider networks to really bring home the point that "Affordable Care Act" is in fact the ultimate oxymoron.
Barack Obama has done real and lasting damage to the health care system in this
country. On purpose. All of you who voted for him? Yeah, you're complicit in
his evil.

Can you guess that homosexuality was involved?
Of course you can.
But, what you can't do is repeat Church teaching on homosexuality in a Catholic school. Because then the tolerance crowd goes batshit insane.
Political correctness took an ugly turn last week when a Catholic nun was excoriated for lecturing against same-sex unions at a Catholic high school in North Carolina.
And the outrage didn't come from the left, but from students and parents.
Sister Jane Dominic Laurel told students that homosexuality is not so much a biological trait as a result of psychological factors often prompted by environmental conditions, like being raised by same-sex parents. She used studies and data to back up her claims, according to Breitbart News.
Sister Laurel, a Nashville Dominican nun with a doctorate in theology from the Pontifical University in Rome, has often lectured on church doctrine, which teaches that homosexuality is a sin. She normally teaches at Aquinas College, but often guest lectures at high schools across the country.
Judging by how the students and parents reacted, that Catholic school is "catholic" in name only.
Students and parents from the Charlotte-area school were incensed.
Nearly 1,000 parents met at the school Wednesday to address complaints. The assembly was closed to the public, but social media posts described it as "often heated, with emotions running high on both sides," the Charlotte Observer reported.
The students reacted like good little prog-bots, and flushed 12 years of religious education down the toilet in the process.
"We the students of Charlotte Catholic High School would like to issue a formal complaint regarding Sr. Jane Dominic [Laurel]'s speech," according to an online petition. "We believe that same sex couples have the ability to raise happy, well-adjusted and successful children … We believe that homosexual couples are capable of monogamy. As rational people, we know that most homosexual people lead healthy, normal and productive lives like their heterosexual counterparts."
What they don't "know," apparently, is the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
I blame the school. And, of course, the parents.
But wait, it gets "better." Sister's lecture elicited cries of "bullying."
Susan Traynor of Matthews, whose son is a sophomore, said he is usually pretty quiet when she picks him up from Charlotte Catholic High.
But on the day Laurel spoke to the assembly, she said, he spoke right up when he got in the car.
"He said, 'We had the worst assembly today,' " Traynor recalled. He said he tried to leave with some others, but they were made to sit down. There are students in this school who are openly gay and some who are not out yet. Obviously, they felt bullied."
Let's say that again. Catholic teaching is bullying.
I told you guys this day would come. I just didn't expect it to be greeted with enthusiasm by Sister's own superiors. Aquinas College has placed Sister Jane Dominic on sabbatical, so that the students at Charlotte Catholic High School can "begin a process of healing and renewal."
One needs "healing" when confronted with Church teaching? No. One needs Confession. Please, Catholics of Charlotte, go to Confession. You'll find all the "healing" you need right there. For free.
Father Z is dismayed.
Did Sister actually say things that were so outrageous, so unacceptable, so lacking in truth and in charity, that the resulting furor was appropriate, proportionate and justified? Really?
It seems to me that this sad episode is one of many which reveal the building in our midst of a mob mentality akin to that which drove the Salem Witch Trials. If you speak in public now with any clarity about the Church's teachings on sexuality, marriage, etc., or avert to conclusions which rational people reach about the same derived from the Natural Law, you will be met with fury. "I saw Lizzie Procter speaking with the devil!" Well. bad example, since most of the people who will join the snarling pack likely don't believe in the devil.
Ah, but the devil works through them.
There is a new and twisted "normal" coalescing. This new "normal", violating the dictates of reason, will prompt the more aggressive and ideologically driven to impose iron norms, which, when violated, will spark vicious attacks from the now easily manipulated mob.
Brendan Eich can relate, Father. The mob got him too.
Because the goal of homosexual rights is the extermination of religion. The
gang which claims to be advocates for "love" (in all its gender-non-specific
forms) turns out to be the biggest bunch of haters that ever lived. We are in
a totalitarian death spiral, and it is indeed demonic.

Single-handledly, I might add. Just look at the headline, and the photo below it.
The article makes it clear — if the Koch Brothers aren't prevented from using their money to influence politics, PEOPLE WILL DIE! Nevermind that they're fifty-ninth on the all-time donation list, behind at least 18 different labor unions.
Because progressive groups who spend money on politics are knights in shining armor with hearts of gold. It's only evil rethuglicans who thwart the forces of light with their dirty oil money. And just to make sure we know which side the Ledger is on, here's the highlighted quote:
The Koch brothers are not only affecting elections and thwarting governance; they are hurting human beings.
Got it? The Koch brothers kill people. With their bare hands, while cackling malevolently too.
The mendacity of the Ledger's blood libel is staggering. And par for the course.
Harry Reid couldn't have said it better himself. And come to think of it, he probably did, while giving the Ledger their marching orders.
Elsewhere in the paper, it's noted that Obamacare has forced thousands of low-income New Jersey children off of their state-subsidized health care plan. This is presumably for their own good, and if their parents have to pay three or 4 times as much for less coverage, well, that's not really "hurting human beings." Mainly because Obama said it isn't, and the Ledger never contradicts their Dear Leader.
Then, right below the despicable blood libel, there's the ever-laughable Paul Mulshine, lamenting the most recent round of layoffs at his den of bylined democratic party operatives, while disparaging bloggers in general, and Glenn Reynolds of InstaPundit in particular.
The typical blogger doesn't want to sit in a zoning board meeting writing about variances. If he's a left-winger, he's sitting in front of his computer railing about how the Koch brothers are ruining the ozone layer. If he's a right-winger, he's complaining about Benghazi while misspelling it.
The hypocrisy is mind-boggling. Right below a mendacious screed against the Koch Brothers, here's Mulshine whinging about bloggers who don't attend zoning board meetings, as if that's the ticket to entry into the world of Real Journalism.
Have you ever seen a Star-Ledger article about a zoning board meeting?
Nope, didn't think so.
They're too busy doing Harry Reid's bidding.

Yesterday, while discussing the "no conservatives allowed" policy of something called the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference, Stacy McCain noted that you don't need a whole conference to tell you how to be a feminist.
It's much simpler than that!
After seeing these feminist festivities, I'm sure many young women are asking, "What can I do? I'd like to be a feminist, but I can't afford to attend a national conference or spend years getting a Women's Studies degree from an elite private university."
Relax, ladies. Becoming a feminist is actually very simple:
1. Get an abortion;
2. Become a lesbian;
3. Vote Democrat;
and
4. Cats. Lots of cats.
You're welcome. Always glad to help.
To which I can only add, lose your sense of humor.
Poof!, you're a sandwich.
Oh, who am I kidding, not even
Chris Dodd and Ted Kennedy would make a sandwich out of that.

I really am sick and tired of homosexuals. Their preening sanctimony brooks no dissent. The hypocrisy of their calls for "tolerance" is no longer ironic, because their totalitarian impetus has become a juggernaut.
There is now an 11th commandment in America. Thou Shalt Celebrate Buggery! Or thou shalt lose thy job.
Mozilla -- most famous for its Firefox browser -- patted itself on the back for standing up for equal rights when it forced out CEO Brendan Eich after only a week on the job.
The Mountain View, Calif.-based organization infuriated many employees and users last week by promoting Eich. The hullabaloo centered on Eich.s $1,000 donation in 2008 to support Prop 8, the California initiative that barred same-sex marriage in the state.
"Equal rights." You use that term. It does not mean what you think it means.
Oh but, homosexuals don't want equality. They want conformity. They demand it. To not bend over and take it up the ass is hatred. Mr. Eich is "anti-gay," nevermind that that the homosexuals are "anti-religion."
We the new paradigm is this. We can have "free speech." Just so long as we don't say anything that gets the buggery boys all hot and bothered. Then it's off with our heads.
Well, I'll tell you what.
If they can get a guy fired for speaking out for traditional marriage, for believing in the Judeo-Christian definition of "family" instead of their warped view in which Heather has two mommies, then I can damn well refuse to do business with the next homosexual who shows up demanding "equality."
Yeah, don't sue me, because you made the rules. You created the heckler's veto. I'm just following your lead.
Take your "equality" and shove it up your ass. I heard you like that.

Well, that didn't take long. Last week the Star-Ledger announced they'd be "consolidating operations" with NJ.com. Today the ax swung, and 25% of their newsroom got chopped.
In a grim day of reckoning at the state's largest newspaper, the owners of The Star-Ledger today said they were eliminating the jobs of approximately 167 people, including 25 percent of the newsroom.
The sweeping job loss was part of a plan announced last week in an effort to greatly reduce costs and combine resources by consolidating the operations of The Star-Ledger, along with its sister publications in New Jersey and its online partner, NJ.com, which also announced cutbacks today.
The Star-Ledger, which has won three Pulitzer Prizes and several national awards, currently has 750 employees, of which approximately 500 are non unionized. None of the cuts announced today will affect unionized personnel, who are covered under existing labor contracts.
The cuts will mean the loss of 40 of the 156 reporters, editors, photographers and support staff in The Star-Ledger newsroom, which had already seen a parade of people leaving in recent weeks over concerns about the paper's future and the continuing fiscal pressures affecting newspapers across the country. One of those leaving voluntarily had been slated to be cut.
Elsewhere at the Newark-based paper, where whole offices now stand vacant, attesting to tremendous loss of personnel through buyouts and earlier layoffs, 127 more are losing their jobs across all departments.
You just don't need a big staff when your main purpose is regurgitating Obama Administration and DNC talking points. Sorry it took so long for you guys to figure that out.
But take heart, the Ministry of Propaganda is throwing a few of you a bone.
Those being let go will not necessarily leave immediately. In packets that were being handed out this morning, those being told their jobs were being eliminated were offered severance packages if they agreed to stay with the newspaper until NJ Advance Media, new media company being formed, is up and running.
Star-Ledger employees receiving offer letters of jobs with the new company in some cases were being given different positions or titles, some at lower pay. They will have a week to decide to accept the offer, the offer letters said.
Obamanomics! Do the same job for lower pay. Welcome to the club.
As for the rest of you, didn't Joe Biden say that losing your job gives you "more freedom?"
Oh, right, you guys are liberals, you don't like Freedom. Sucks to be you!
UPDATE 03 Apr 2014 21:54:
I love the smell of schadenfreude in the evening.
Another 124 full- and part-time jobs were eliminated at the company's weekly newspapers and at the dailies in Trenton, Easton, and South Jersey. At NJ.com, 15 of 77 employees were let go. The day's toll across all Advance properties came to 306 layoffs.
The Obamabot chickens have come home to roost.

Remember when searching a potential terrorist's library records meant George W. Bush was shredding the Constitution?
Yeah, me neither.
Here comes Barack Obama, openly admitting he's listening to our phone calls, reading our emails, tracking our cell phones, and scanning our license plates. All without a warrant. Not even one of those super-secret fig-leaf warrants from a FISA court. And nobody says "boo," because he's The One, and he craps unicorns or something.
The Obama administration has conducted warrantless searches of Americans' communications as part of the National Security Agency's surveillance operations that target foreigners located outside of the U.S., the administration's top intelligence official confirmed in a letter to Congress disclosed Tuesday.
The recent acknowledgement of warrantless searches on Americans offers more insight into U.S. government surveillance operations put in place after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The government has broadly interpreted these laws to allow for the collection of communications of innocent Americans, practices the Obama administration maintains are legal.
"Senior officials have sometimes suggested that government agencies do not deliberately read Americans' emails, monitor their online activity or listen to their phone calls without a warrant," Democratic Sens. Ron Wyden of Oregon and Mark Udall of Colorado said in a joint statement. "However, the facts show that those suggestions were misleading, and that intelligence agencies have indeed conducted warrantless searches for Americans' communications."
Obama lied? Say it ain't so!
But it's OK, they investigated themselves and decided they did nothing wrong.
Wyden has pressed the administration on whether these searches on Americans have occurred. In a March 28 letter to Wyden, James Clapper, the government's top intelligence official, said the NSA has searched for Americans' communications within information it collected when it targeted foreigners located outside the U.S. In his letter, Clapper also pointed to a declassified document released last August that also acknowledged the use of such searches and stated that these searches were reviewed, and there was no finding of wrongdoing. It was unclear how often these searches are conducted.
Trust them, their motives are pure! Even if the Fourth Amendment says they gotta sell it to the judge first.
"If a government agency thinks that a particular American is engaged in terrorism or espionage, the Fourth Amendment requires that the government secure a warrant or emergency authorization before monitoring his or her communications," Wyden and Udall said.
Oh, c'mon, those kind of legal technicalities only apply when a Republican is president. Don't you guys watch MSNBC?
The Obama administration contends the searches are legal because they are searching information they lawfully obtained.
Uh huh. And once they've "obtained" it, they'd never, ever turn over
potentially juicy tidbits to say
the IRS, or
the EPA, right? Nah, that would be illegal.

Talk about your pyrrhic victories.
The Obamabots achieved their goal of signing up 7 million Americans for health insurance.
How? By paying 5.6 million of them to do it.
Bribery. They achieved their goal the way the Democrats always do, with bribery. Something for nothing, passing the bill on to our children. Take 5.6 million people, give 'em an average of $250 per month in premium subsidies, and that's $16.8 billion dollars of wealth transfer a year, just to buy votes.
Your tax dollars at work!
But think about it, they're giving away health insurance for free and they still had to beg, cajole, and plead while dragging the mendicant class kicking and screaming into the exchanges.
And don't forget, in order to give that free health insurance to 5.6 million grifters, they had to ruin it for all the rest of us too.
So, no matter what
the media tries to tell you, if that's a "success," I'll eat my hat.

Every year on March 31st U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-Salomon Melgen) introduces a Senate resolution honoring the legacy of Cesar Chavez.
And every year it's anonymously blocked, because it's a bald-faced pander to the La Raza radicals.
So this year, Menendez stomped his feet, and demanded a roll call vote.
With the late-labor icon Cesar Chavez in the news because of the release of the film bearing his name, plus his March 31 birthday, many advocates for illegal alien amnesty are using Chavez' memory to promote their cause.
One such advocate, New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, introduced a resolution calling for the Senate to honor and promote his legacy.
But the resolution was objected to by Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions on behalf of Louisiana Senator David Vitter, who wanted to add an amendment pointing out that Chavez opposed illegal immigration, demanded a secure border, and believed in enforcing immigration law.
The amendment described Chavez' legacy in detail. His real legacy.
Not only did Republicans speak out, but they spelled out exactly what Chavez actually believed about immigration and the border.
Vitter wanted to add that Chavez believed in enforcing immigration laws because of "the deleterious effects of inexpensive labor" on the wages of farm workers in the U.S.
The two-part amendment concluded that Chavez recognized the importance of a secure southern border with Mexico and encouraged members of the United Farm Workers of America to contact immigration authorities to report instances of illegal labor.
In fact Chavez was so virulently opposed to illegal immigrants, that he routinely reported them to the then-INS to get them deported, and even led a large protest along the Mexican border with Civil Rights icon Rev. Ralph Abernathy, to protest the insecure border and Mexican illegal alien invasion which he denounced for stealing his union workers' jobs and hurting their wages.
Facts. Sometimes they're inconvenient. Especially to race-hustling demagogues.
Back in the Senate, an angry Robert Menendez said the language clarifying Chavez' real positions on the border and illegals was "irrelevant" to the commemorative resolution before pulling the resolution altogether.
Using Cesar Chavez to promote amnesty for illegal aliens? Only if you don't
know much about history.
